And when caught, they just made up the battery excuse and then only they introduced that throttle setting. Their main aim was people to upgrade to newer models. That's marketing. Tell me any other company who introduced updates to slow down phones.

not to mention the general public that dont have a clue about software modification - a zero maintenance phone that lasts 4-5 years is well worth the extra expenditure

Even with throttling 4-5 year old iphones are so much more fluid than comparatively newer android devices
oneplus and google are exceptions; oneplus especially are fantastic with updates
but everyone else is still stuck with 2 years of major updates that may cripple phone performance
Performance with my s8 on pie is abysmal and that sucks because it's the last official update samsung will offer

Apple had a 13.3% drop in sales this quarter with the xr being the best seller of the top flagships, they have dropped from the second most shipped smartphone to the 4th this quarter but still try and maintain their cost of phones that they sell with barely any change to them.

Many Analysts has said that the iPhone 12 in 2020 will be revolutionary. It was promised Underscreen ToF sensors instead of that mini XBOX Kinect camera system, underscreen TouchID, >40MP camera with big sensors, USB-C port.

Worse panels, Lightning port again with only USB in the charger. The 6.1-inch LCD iPhone will continue to ship with a 5W power adapter with a USB-A connector. New iPhones won't support Apple Pencil.
The only new feature is the ultra-wide band to search your phone... but less usefull that through the sound less if it's silenced. The three cameras is only in the most expensive models that only few ones will buy and still to be seen how bad or godd they are... At the end, nothing interesting.

Phone size is Ok for normal day-to-day use (though a same design not impressed!)
Worst ever back camera design and Ugly....need infinite level of improvement.
Battery in this flagship phone is disappointing...
as always the price should be reconsidered.

the apple iphone is just another name craze, the camera looks awful on the back and as an apple user there is no significant changes from year to year its getting a bit boring now just adding a different number to the same old iphone is no longer going to cut it .Disappointing

I have been reading and talking to many of my friends and business partners users trough the year as I am interested in communication technics. Changing all top brands and smartphones and using and chaning apple from iPhone 6 to Samsung galaxy and back.
The point of Apple is that is mainly a phone, offering everything in simple package. As a businessman over 35, for me and people that I know using-this is enough. Quality of speaking, easy to dial, share and clear menus, great camera and never stoping quick performance.
Simplicity, quality and a tech piece I can count on. Prices of all devices are same. High end is high end. Low end product work great 2-3months, than starting to slow down and bugging.
do you really think apple can't put any tech inside?! They can do everything as any other company in modern word, but no need for right know. Profit is great, company value is top, so they just keep doing same with minimal investment. This is also what I do and every normal businessman should do.
But always being aware about the market trends and knowhow and ready to act.
I know they can react in 6 months and offer product with all the tech available, just no point to do it now. If you think this is offending don't buy. I don't care. I rely on tech for my success and only iPhone managed not to fail so far.
if you think of yourselves as tech guru and want to complain about camera, about menus or etc. it will be never ending dialog.

If the cameras haven't been greatly improved, everything else is would be of no significance. The iPhone X was the last iPhone with mediocre photo and video talent. Hopefully they've improved things since the XS, and substantially.
