About 50% of the workers are temporary labor at Foxconn's factory.

AnonD-558092, 10 Sep 2019Let's be honest. People around the globe have clothed thems... moreWell even i dont like to agree i have to.
Most branded clothes have on the sticker made in Kambodzia where even the chinese workers working for apple wouldnt work at their work conditions because is far worse than anything they can ever imagine.
    Its horrible but truth.
Unless the whole human civilization especialy the countries which are rich enough to do something will do something to help em nothing will change despite the fact the slavery were cancelled about 200 years ago.

Trust me, they can do it, reduce the huge money they trash in advertising and give it to their workers.

This only proves that dealing with apple and working for them is same as being a slave and accept is as a life duty.
Anyone who supports apple means he supports this slavery and accept is a normal thing in life.
Besides another fact is that part time slaves gets much less money than the staff which have the signed contract and works as normal staff.
And i really thought a slavery were gone for good 200 years ago but apple proving opposite just to keep the upcomming line of their phones for as low price as possible in their casual overpriced range.

1- Consume less (not necessarily pre-historic level lol)
2- Be prepared to spend more (obviously a conflict-free item will cost more to produce, thus more expensive).
But these two even themselves out. If we have fairly produced devices, made to last, they could be used for, say, 5 years. Instead of upgrading each 2 years, you'd pay 2x as much but only upgrade 2.5x less, which is a net win for you. Consume less, spend more, save more, and no child labor or modern slavery roblem here.

We a... moreyes. i agree. cheap forced labor and employing minors have been in practice since the dawn of industrialization, and i don't think this will ever end as long as there is consumerism. the sheer number of people in the planet would require and permit this to happen even after apple and foxconn are long gone. so unless we go back to living like our pre-historic ancestors have, we always will have this issue.

Foxconn and Apple Inc. will do the same thing next year in Vietnam. Even worse, might be 75% temporary worker compare in China 50 %.

China and recently Bangladesh (in clothing) have a huge labour force which consists of children of school age from 5 years age onwards who are sometimes their family’s breadwinners because maybe their father or mother have died or are too sick to work and the children are bringing in the money (under exploitation and under paid) for food and medicine. The respective countries need to put in a welfare system to look after its citizens and help the children get an education.

I'm pretty sure temporary workers is far away of being the main problem in that fu***** country

People around the globe have clothed themselves with pieces of fabric coloured, sown and stitched by children and adults in huge, unsanitary production plants for decades. Those who colour clothes and take care of jeans have it the worse, bathing in toxic chemicals all day long. Same goes for shoes, tools, toys and electronics (incl. phones). Everyone unfortunately uses some product of child labor at some point in their day. It's sad and lame and horrible but this can only be solved on a global scale. It's useless to point at one country because both the producing countries and the consuming countries are to blame. As any businessperson will tell you: There's no supply without demand.
