Apple's new entry-level iPad gets a bigger screen and Smart Connector, keeps same price

Apple are shameless for lazy upgrades but not even a new processor? That's lazy as crap. You've essentially got the old processor pushing out more pixels due to the bigger screen so it's going to be worse performance than the model 1 year ago? I think I'd stick with getting a deal on the old version. Larger screen is nice for me but otherwise it's another example of lazy Apple failing to deliver a proper change. I'd hate to see the future with Apple having less competition as they're just the sort of lazy company that would love to price gouge and not deliver.

It's the same entry price, but if you need more than 32GB (non-expandable) the price of higher capacity model has hiked significantly (the UK education price is about £40 higher than a week ago).
But that's marketing, innit: the blogs just report the entry price hasn't changed, don't notice what else has.

if this makes the 2018 9.7 drop 100$ somewhere, officially or not then i am buying that. There is nothing usable for me in this one.

What a cash grab same tablet for same price, really? So it is almost two years old crap for 329 dollars? No new chipset no improvements? Outrageous

Anonymous, 10 Sep 2019Still A10 not even A10x . Not worth to upgrade This is not the succesor of iPad 9.7 (2018). This is just the bigger brother of it. The iPad 10.2 has bigger screen with same PPI, smart connector, and support Apple pencil. So, the price of iPad 9.7 (2018) should be down cheaper a little bit compare to this.

Still the same processor, and still stuck at 32GB base, and no 64GB intermediate, just a 128 price jump, very little change, not worth it if you didn't buy last year's iPad this isn't better just means a future upgrade barrier. They could've at least upgraded the CPU to the A11 of the iPhone 8, but they didn't do even that. Telling my friends with even iPar Air 2 to SKIP ! Maybe next year they will have something worth upgrading to, nothing compelling today,
