Froggie, 14 Sep 2019Is the firmware stated .56? If not then update the .56 version. It's 55.0.A.2.278, if this is what's you asking. I didn't update to 55.0.A.2.314 because I heard some people had bugs after updating. I wonder if I can go directly to 55.0.A.6.56 (September update).

Do I need to install the August update in order to receive the September one? It's still the previous one in my notification page.

YUKI93, 12 Sep 2019You sure about it? Someone have other idea: https://thenext... moreIf your phone has a proper dac leading to a headphone jack then yeah it will most likely sound great but if your phone has the usual bare minimum needed for wired audio then it will for certain sound distorted especially if you crank it up. Even with usb c to 3.5mm adapter which is supposed to be all digital results are not that great at all. With all software audio adjustments off there is a difference between wired active headphones and the same headphone connected to ldac quality mode, at least on my phone. When wired headphones just pass through the signal but when wireless headphones do all the heavy lifting. That's why eq over bt does not work most of the time, if app pushes eq through bt that's wrong too.

But in the end it's a combination of phone and headphones. Bottom line is go and buy zx300 to embrace your wired headphones.

Hildr, 12 Sep 2019I just plug my headset to this Xperia1, where's the matter? If you use dongle, forget it. I don't like bringing that wired bulk around, it's very uncomfortable.

If it's USB-C earphones or headphones, I can forgive that though I never personally tried it out myself for real.

Anonymous, 12 Sep 2019Price drops after few months , still barely sell. No excuse. Being a commercial success and a good product is two différents things. In fact, brand image sell far more than the spec sheet, that sell far more that the in-use qualities. And Sony did really crappy smartphones before.
If you buy a phone only because a lot of people bought it, well, good for you, you don't have expectations, life will be easy.
I prefer to buy them all and keep the one that suit my taste (14 days withdrawal), no matter if it doesn't sell well (or if I always said I didn't like Sony, I still don't xD).

My point was that if his OP has a worst camera than the Xperia 1, that's not the slight difference in the spec sheet that will make it better, since a lot accept far worst by buying a $400 phone. The first thing someone ask about a phone, is generally how good the photos are, and not often do they ask about wifi/gps/usb speed.
