Android started with mobile phones (the G1, remember?). Tablets came a bit later on adopting the specially crafted Honeycomb.

my opinion is that Google shouldn't have promoted android OS for mobile phones. android is good only for tablets. a phone shud be simple like this. having an android phone in my hand make me restless.
