Oppo Reno Ace to feature a whopping 65W fast charging

13 September 2019
That's a considerable jump even over the current 50W SuperVOOC.

My experience with fast charging on so many phones is that the battery loses its full capacity pretty soon, within 8 to 9 months and the heat generated during fast charging also plays the culprit. I've had swollen batteries on 4-5 phones so far within a year. User Removable batteries are by far the best but due to planned obsolescence, users are at the mercy of the manufacturers.

I think that unless you're in an emergency (especially outdoors, at an airport etc) you shouldn't do the super fast charging. Lithium is lithium, it degrades rapidly.

The super fast charging is a good option to have, but you shouldn't do it everyday.

4 years of new phones, I still use a 10w charger.
Although it takes time to charge tablets, it still serves me well with batteries lasting 4+ years on average.

People who switch phones every year won't see a difference. Unless the phone catches fire.

You're talking of drugs, never used those things. maybe your using them else why would that come up.
Make life meaningful and stop using them, that will also help you stop seeing every others as drug users.

Whackcar, 13 Sep 2019Cue the comments moaning about how fast charging is bad for... moreThat's what I do actually. Never used 40w charger on my P30 Pro but 15w Lumia 950XL charger instead. Charging time is reasonable and keeps battery fresh longer I hope. Won't buy another phone until P50 Pro with Harmony OS. :-)

isn't 25 Watts enough to take the phone from 0 to 100% in like one hour and a half? even if its 2 hours that's more than enough. The battery of these phones can easy last over 24 hours with a regular usage, you definitely will have 1 or 2 hours during the day to charge your phone.

I know Super VOOC works by having 2 batteries being charged simultaneously at around 32Watts but that still unnecessarily fast.
