Man i cant blieve u guys! U r comparin symbian os on a 'phone' to an android os on a 'tablet'. Is there any comparison possible? A tab havin a much bigger screen (7 inch or more) has to display twice the amount of pixels in large screened fones (say 4 inch) to display same ppi quality, requiring higher processing power n thus makin it a wee bit slower. If a 'tab' started displayin 640x360 res like then u'll b able to see each n every pixel. Y do u think android has a separate market for tabs? Bcuz apps of fones r nt optimised to b used on a tab. So compare ur symbian fones wid android fones if u want n nt wid tabs bcuz no tab wil even b able to run on symbian. N i hav already given reasons abt y android is bttr in the article announcin nokia's award n no 1 has been able to find anythin wrong abt it.

But they had to do something to gain popularity.

It is actually rather embarrassing reading some of these comments here. Why bother coming here to have your say if you have not actually done any reading up on the concept behind this phone and have very little understanding of what they are looking to achieve.
Many of you are taking the stupid, and unfortunately usual, response of counting pixels only. IT IS NOT ABOUT THAT.

sg2, 03 Mar 2012Oh my Gosh! wats wrong with nokia? if i were the one to mak... moreNokia can easily use HD Screens. Its nt a rocketscience like pureview technology ! They have put a 330 ppi screen on the E6 . But it would nt allow the apps to run. There will be compatibility issues, as the apps r optimised for 640 x 360. But in apollo, they will use HD screens

a 41MP with a 8MP-sensor...
good job..
on a regular micro-SD card one can save about 100images/gb if 5MP-camera so if it's really 41MP you'd be able to save about 12 images/gb. Sending an image via mail never has been more expensive :)
not a fan, sorry.

the truth is that NOkia tries to sell all hardware that they bought and have it stocked :( it's really disapointing. THats why this phone so fat. OLD HARDARE !!! n8 was slim only camera part and now? this phone is fat fat fat on all parts.
BTW symbian - as I remember they said they are going to kill this OS in few years :D I bet the only thing they don;t do that because of fans buys these mobiles with some kind of stupid bnelieves:)
BTW these photos looks just great on SGS2 super amoled :DD

Ale, 03 Mar 2012You make a good point. Imagine Nokia had introduced this ph... moreHey mate we r nt talking of s40 here . Its belle n its obviously more capable than gingerbread. It can do everything and can handle such large sensors without going to quad or hexa cores. Android is fooling everyone with multicore cpu. Let nokia get into this field, who knows with multicore we would have the pleasure to record hd videos at 60 or even 100 fps. Today quad core has no use, even dual core is useless, as proved by nokia.

GDX, 03 Mar 2012yes maybe you're true... But this is the selling point, whi... moreim not an android fan, but i prefer quadcore than 41mp. i used internet more than taking picture.. and afterall, 5mp/8mp is quite enough, but single core with now we have so many application with specifications very high, then dual or quad core seems very fruitfull

its not really so important how big is the megapixel, more important is the easy way to share, to edit and to upload and download to internet or to share to others.. nokia must understand this...

no need for a phone that have a gazillion megapixel. just like in FB, youtube or other multimedia sharing site, all you need is a good old functioning camera, and thats it. Even professional agree. in anyway you look at it, you still need a PC to do all the dirty work like editing and Photoshop. Try that on a mobilephone????

@aaptk- Please stop letting drunk people comment... How do you even compare Symbian to Android, even iOS, which I'm not specially a fan of... As for looking at the phone, it's called curiosity, maybe you're frustrated about your Symbian phone, most people just check things out for fun... ;)

AnonD-16334, 03 Mar 2012you think our dual core having problems? then forget about ... moreyou wouldnt be here if you were satisfied with your phone, would you?
you wont admit it, but you admire symbian's stability and privacy.
no app crashing, no charging twice a day, no one looking at my pictures, no lags (even the new nexus with chrome has serious lags lol - see eric shmidt's mwc video). i would be jelaus too, if i were stuck with android.
good thing nokia continued with symbian so i could get rid of my lg optimus

It's all about jealousy where the android fans won't have such a pureview tech.., only with nokia belle... And... What about your own quadcore league? Does it worth? I don't think so

Tom-Helge, 02 Mar 2012Hahaha omg, i'm lol'ing at all of the Nokia fanboys here.
... moreYou make a good point. Imagine Nokia had introduced this phone at WMC with a standard 8mp camera on it, nobody would have given it a second look.
This is a camera that can make phone calls, that's all, I want a true multimedia smartphone....and I'll look elsewhere thanks.
Besides the impressive imaging technology (and it is very very good) the rest of the tech in this phone is mediocre at best and behind the times.
