Its an amazing piece of technolgy and design. But no ip rating is ridiculous.£2000 for a phone that once rained on or splashed is broke. Shame on you Samsung. I will stick with my S10.

Anonymous, 21 Sep 2019Technology and objectively wise the galaxy one is betterI can see how great it is, notch + poor cameras + 2nd screen adding to thickness with awesome bezels.

Rather a piece of art that should be kept in secure place as a status symbol or whatever. I disagree with your premise that this is some kind of object that we should be okay with it being fragile. Samsung calls it a phone, then they better make it survive everyday conditions. It could easily be made waterproof and dustproof, Samsung just rushing it to market..

And not every electronic or device in your hands can or will survive water.
Its obvious this kind of special device will be more fragile. If you cant understand that then its clearly not a device for you.

This is an early access premium device for folks who want it to look different. its not a mainstream device and people looking for "value". Bleeding edge devices have issues. Definitely not for 99% of folks. But there is demand from super rich who would not worry about dust getting into it :-)

At least this weaker screen is covered when it's closed but Huawei's on the otherhand will always be susceptible to damage due to the folding design.

lmao, this is a phone meant to be practical in everyday use, that imcludes the possibility of being caught up in heavy rain. And keeping it away from dust is impossible as Samsung knows as well as us. So instead of giving us a practical device to be carried around, they give us essentially a patient to be cared for. That just dumb. Btw I love the concept of foldable phones. Give it a generation or two, Samsung will understand that we want a device to be practical, not a fragile piece of machinery that we have to baby.
