Pajson89, 23 Sep 2019Zero F about google , i can install any app i want on this phone You can put any app you want but they're not working correctly even when you side load google play. Snap chat for instance will ban you during every wave if you make it that far. Using the Huawei store combo apps for social media gives you a little less then the apps do. Make sure you set your region correctly there's no USA to pick from. The screen recorder doesn't work and they just updated today and still broken they fixed the Bluetooth music noises tho.

But maybe I overestimate the meaning of "open source"...the way I understand it Huawei can replace or delete whatever google put in there (hence why it's called emui based on android?)

I've imported already various phones from China (mostly China-only phones like the Huawei Honor Note 8). All of them were shipped directly from the factory in China and reached me still shrink-wrapped, so they had *nothing* installed in terms of Google. I don't know where you got that ludicrous idea from, that they have some kind of stub installed, or actually have Goggle installed, just inactive, or any such nonsense.
Those Google services are no witchcraft or something. You just need the proper installer for the phone in question, sideload it, install it, done. No problems.
This has always worked fine, even for phones that were China-only models and thus were never supposed to get Google services in the first place - so there's definitely no block or anything.
But at any rate, I couldn't care any less if you couldn't install Google. I'm avoiding using Google anyway (except for the Playstore) and have everything Google uninstalled (or at least deactivated), and since Huawei is building up its AppGallery now as a replacement, there's no need for it anymore.

And thats... moreThank you, haha. Didn't expect that by using Google chinese assistant you could force installing Google service. Really clever and with these you could use it as regular phone.
Really hope that Google doesn't kill these workaround from the server side.
