Yes, let's wait for the real pretty soon so we don't judge not existing LOL. Still, all cons may be solved even if next generations but so far it suggests more than curved display (which itself isn't my option at the moment either). It might be a step for some future phone development (if you see). See you soon, Xiaomi, good luck.

Only downside is that it isn't as scratch resistant as gorilla glass, but it is a lot stronger otherwise. Tempered glass screen protector helps against scratches though.
But curved displays are just annoying.

Xiaomi is at least innovative as they try new things and not like some companies that do little new updates for 4-5 years and every new year rise there price while cut the cost

Samsung/JDI/BoE/LG needs to redesign the display especially the location of the connector/plug so the forehead and chin can be as thin as the side bezels.

Futureproof? This means usable for a long time, not futuristic design.
And I've never broken a screen too, but I've dropped my phone multiple times. I'm sure if I had all curved glass phone, the glass would shatter. Especially since making a usable protective case for that kind of design will be a challenge.
