No Google spyware, 23 Sep 2019Nope, there's no Google spyware on this, it uses Harmony OS... moreIt seems you have been watching a lot of Agent American/EU Movies my friend. Well, do you think Chinese Government isn't doing it either? How can they counter terrorism if they don't have the means to get them with this evolving technology, and hey just so you know, a lot of hackers come from Mainland. So stop spouting about spyware-free OS, because there is no Spyware-free but I know the fact that you didn't care if you are being spied or not if you are not some VIP or Billionaire . For common people, what we need is better OS and security that can at least protect us.

Anonymous, 23 Sep 2019If Microsoft couldn't have a successful mobile OS, what cha... moreThe reason Microsoft failed hard is not because of lacking apps in their store, but because their Windows Phone UI (Metro tiles UI) was absolutely BRAINDEAD, and no even remotely sane person wanted to use it.

Microsoft has never even remotely cared about what the consumer wants. Whenever they came up with new ideas for Windows, they just rammed them down everyone's throat, regardless if people liked it or not. They could do that with Windows, because they had a stranglehold on the PC market and had managed to suppress any alternatives.
When they tried the same sh*t with their Windows Mobile OS and tried to force those abysmal Metro tiles down people's throats, it didn't work, because they were just a tiny blimp besides the huge Android and the still sizeable iOS.

They never understood that when you've got huge competition, you need to create something that's pleasant to use (a concept that's totally foreign to them) in order to win people over.
So when the first version of Windows phone failed, they tried to force their abysmal Metro tile OS down people's throats in the form of Windows 8. However, it was that massively unpopular that even the most hardcore Microsoft fans revolted, and Windows 8 became the most unpopular Windows *ever*, by a huge margin, and most people stayed on Windows 7, until today even.

Did Microsoft ever learn the tiniest bit out of this? No, not at all. They just threw millions after millions into marketing campaigns for Windows Phone, they tried over-the-top hardware for their Lumia phones (at least in terms of camera), but nothing helped - because they never changed the Windows Phone OS, and thus it always stayed the same horrible mess.
In the end, they had to concede defeat and bury it.

Harmony OS is till based on Android, even if it will be somewhat different (e.g. micro kernel). Huawei already said that developers will be able to port their apps with little effort only.
It will thus neither be a completely new OS, nor a completely new UI, but it will feel and work quite similar to Android, so it's pretty much a guaranteed success.

[deleted post]First of all, I was talking about bringing Chinese cars only. Generally I buy Chinese brands too.. Then may I ask you if you live in E.U.? If not, then O. K. you don't care and that's what I didn't know. If you do, then you must understand
      1) what quality cars are produced here
      2) what's the importance for regional economy.
Such idea never existed here. Nobody wants pointlessly ruin own functional economy.

Also the amount of effort put into OS is what makes it a success. It's why Android remained. Or iOS. I had Samsung's BadaOS based phone. And it was super promising. It looked amazing, was fast and phones had amazing hardware specs. And then Samsung killed it with their garbage zero interest in making it better or evolve it further. And so BadaOS died coz Samsung just plain didn't care.

There never was any even remote evidence of Chinese companies spying, neither Huawei nor anyone else.
Meanwhile, American companies and government are well known to spy out anyone and everyone, American or not. NSA is the chief spy there, Edward Snowden revealed only the tip of the iceberg of NSA spying.

[deleted post]And it is also about quality. Of european cars, you haven't seen any?? I have to say clearly one more time that saying "I want to start buying Chinese cars" in Europe is not only the most stupid thing I've heard lately but also self-destructive. It's huge part of economy. I'm really trying to not offend you but please consider reducing usage of technology but thinking a bit more instead.

'Get all cheap at all costs' is not the only objective. Think about what would happen if all here thought the way you said.

When this happens Harmony will be ready to go.
Unless that they wont put it for phones because having new OS and not having features of android store should be suicidal for fluid work of Harmony OS.

And as we know due to USA ban Huawei have no other choice just bide their time until the OS is ready.
if it will work the way users can swhitch from OS to OS via some update it would be avesome.
But because orange greasy man and his agenda are bunch of clumsy ignorants is nice to know Huawei had some backdoor plan since 2012.

I'm actually kind of looking forward to how things will unfold from this point forward with regards to this Harmony OS.

I don't think Harmony is ready for phones yet. It really looks to me like Huawei wants to keep using Android for now. And without apps, that move would be suicidal. They should try to get more devs to publish their apps to the AppGalery (is that how they call their own app store?) and then have a tool to port Android apps to their own OS.

Again that's not easy or quick to do. MS made an iOS to UWP bridge but abandoned toe Android to UWP bridge.

                              IMO Harmony won't hit a phone until 2020. Probably H2 2020.
