                This the way the Alpha look is complete unique.

                Wait and see what Xiaomi brings on.
                Time will tell. To me this is revolutionary and innovation as well.

                  At least vivo nex dual added that engraved circle on its rear screen to differentiate itself from nubia x 's idea of dual screen, because nubia x was launched first. but this alpha just straight up copied mate x. Moving camera position a bit doesn't excuse it from copying.

                  You said mate x is a foldable. Foldable is a feature, not design. I said alpha is a mate x that can't be unfolded. They just moved the cameras a bit (so the phone has wrap around on BOTH sides which is one of things they highly market to people). And yeah they used their own cameras.

                  You know the meaning of "innovation"? It's supposed to be revolutionary.

                  This alpha just used an existing design (mate x) moved position a bit, didn't even include mate x's foldable feature, added a higher mp camera they arranged from Samsung. Nothing revolutionary, except the price.

                  Hell, if xiaomi released the 2 way foldable phone they showed in a video before. Now that's way more legitimate to be called innovation.

                    And mine there is nothing negative apart ther pric but with said specs and used technology is normal i think. If people have 1500 for new Iphone they will find 2500 for new Alpha. by the way xiaomi phones ddegrades in pricing much faster than apple. Where even 5 years old models cost unreasonable 300 bucks which is plain stupid.

                    The case is useless. I have seen the unboxing video. It doesn't even cover the back. The case covering most of the phone so is great. And is on case manufacturers to create something even more better which will wraps whole phone to protect it from any and all danger.

                    Why do you easily believe what a company says? It's their job to publicize and exaggerate the positives and negatives of their product as all positives. That's the purpose of marketing. You're no different from the sheep of apple if you easily believe everything they tell you. Again, if xiaomi or any dude in youtube can show a real multiple drop test, then I'll believe it.
                    Man apple sheeps believe into apple no matter what. Because i know xiaomi very well i know and honestly i can say they will do a lot better they dont need to lie to its customers.

                    Man nobody copied mate X. Mate X is completely different and foldable device. This with 181% screen to body ratio is complete different whether it will be great or not we have to wait and see but i wont flush it unless i will have my hands on.                     My friend cell phone were invented by Martin Cooper Co-Founder of Motorola and his team back in 1973 so in this case all just copy and paste no matter which brand.
                    I am asking my self why we cant have only Motorola brand for cell phones. Like why we cant have only Ford for a Cars etc.
                    Copy paste everywhere, any item you can name have copy and paste.

                      Not even all the stuff jerry rig does on youtube are all useful. Who the f puts of lighter flame direct to screen? I need tests that happen to real life use of phones. And dropping is definitely a good test of the durability of the whole phone, not just the screen.

                      The front screen is 5.8? that's exactly what I am pointing out. The wrap around is unncessary. The back screen isn't even like the back screen of nubia x/z20. You won't be able to utilize it like front screen. The side wrap around? That's definitely gimmick. Nobody would use that. That's where you freaking hold the phone. Who would look for notifications on that side instead of holding the phone. Also, Nobody can refute its design is mate x design aside from camera position (to have wrap around on both sides) and the non-foldable feature. They copied the mate x design. All these negatives plus the durability issue just for the "cool" factor?

                        Whether you buy it or not nobody cares Fact has been said. 1% of people have chance to by it for most of them even the Gold Bar Apple XS Max by russian exquisite phone and case company maker for 100 000 euros is cheap.

                        Feel free to check the size of the phone again. Dimensions 154.4 x 72.3 x 10.4 mm (6.08 x 2.85 x 0.41 in) in other words It is said 7,92 inch because the screen wraps around the phone but whole device will be size of maybe a 5,8 or 6 inch phone with that dimensions.
                        Also in specs is said something about titanium alloys so it will be a lot more durable than you think. This aint galaxy fold with screen scratchable by nail.


                        The 108mp camera is expected. Why did i say expected? Camera pixels are increasing forever. Do you expect the next camera to be launched after the 64mp camera to have less than 64mp? It will just keep on getting higher. This is nothing revolutionary.

                        All these things xiaomi marketed as features, i just squashed their marketing. All the things they mentioned as positives are actually either negative (screen) or expected (108mp camera).

                        Man last thing i will repeat my self. If they really add shapphire glass to whole phone and the titanium alloys this device will be far more durable than CAT S61 or Sonim XP8. Even the Doogee S90 with IP69k wont catch here.
                        And if they add all above it will be worth 2500 bucks.
                        Whether you buy it or not its your choice xiaomi or I dont force you to buy it.
                        But again if they really add all that was rumored this device will looks suuperpremium with durability equal or beter than MAUS TANK from World of tanks PC game by Wargaming.

                          Yes, the price was an issue. But it's not the main point I said. Xiaomi can sell this at poco's price or lower and I will still not buy it.

                          The design sucks because it's fragile. Don't give me their marketing bs about materials strength. Even samsung note phones can easily be broken if dropped from high places. What more for this stupid exposed screen design? Like I said to you in another thread, show me a video of multiple drop test (no case) from waist height or higher and slam it from same height and let's see that xiaomi's claims are just pure bs.

                              I understands and agree a 2500 eur for a phone is just too much but in 3-5 years this device and all subsequent looking devicers will cost up to 500-600 from xiaomi brand which will be affordable.
                              On a whole world there are like 50% living on verge of life and death and another 40% which lives just from one wages to another.
                              The 9% will have enough money to save for the worse times and the last 1% have enough to buy even 10 devices like this and they wallet wont shrink even by a dent.
                              So i can honeslty say at least 1% from global world will or can buy device like this bevause looks great like from far future and is very innovative.
                              That 1% from 7 and half billion is still a very high number.
                              And if you got my point what i am trying to say you have not much just agree and swallow even a bitter pill.

It's still fragile because the wrap around is exposed. Drop it and the rear and front part is at risk too since it's 1 pc of glass. That's why I said dual displays by nubia and vivo are better (in this way). Camera position is awkward. Mate x had it right when they placed it at extreme side. Or nubia z20 but extreme top. Anyway, the point is it's fragile no matter what kind of material it is made from. It is the wrap around that's the problem. Same with Waterfall display, it's easily broken because of design. The buttons on thatt Waterfall screen is a must in my opinion. The no hole prototype they showed (and meizu zero) won't ever sell because people aren't dumb enough to use a phone without any buttons. even vivo know that. That's why they put a physical power button on top of nex 3.

                                About the alpha design being same as mate x, it's just like the vivo nex dual display being launched after nubia x. Whether vivo copied it or really thought the concept on their own, nubia launched it first. You can't call yours as innovation anymore. We are in internet age. You launched a product and anyone in the world with internet will know it. Same as whether xiaomi really copied mate x or not, the fact that mate x was shown months ago, xiaomi can't just use a similar design with adjusted camera position and 108mp camera and call it innovation.

                                The ridiculous price of the alpha is really for just 2 things: the wrap around display and the 108mp camera.

                                  I believe what makes the surround screen more viable than the foldable screen is precisely its durability. Since the screen doesn't have to bend, they don't need to use that super fragile screen like in the Fold and can go for a more resistant version, and they stated they will be using an aerospace alloy or whatever to make the surround screen more durable than the standard GG. Where I do agree with you is that the Mix Alpha is nothing more than a Mate X that cannot be unfolded, basically Xiaomi is choosing the easy way out by getting rid of what makes the Mate X a revolutionary phone, added a bigger camera to it and call themselves revolutionaries for absolutely no reason.

                                  As for the horizon/Waterfall screen, it might be more fragile but it looks very cool and it being capable of holding multiple virtual keys makes it not a gimmick but the next move in mobile phones industries

                                      To be honest with you 400 euros for a cell phone is my max and i not plan t cross it no matter what.
                                      Just for example Xiaomi redmi 8 note pro cost 250 eur and does same triicks as any other device which cost 4 times more.
                                      On a benchmark score it even outscored Samsung galaxy note 9 just by few points.
                                      So having a feature rich phone solves nothing if 100% of users cant use all its features or 75% of users will use no more than 30 to 50% and for the rest they will niot use them just because they dont know them they dont know how they works and as long as they are not essential they are not necessary.
                                      Such as SD card slots, 3,5mm jackm IP resistance and many else.

                                      So again 400 euros is my limit. My current pghone is Moto X4 bought as a brand new 2 years ago for 395 euros and before i had Lenovo Vibeshot which cost me 372 eur also bought as a brand new. Both phones apart from battery looks like aa brand new and works pretty well.
                                      Thats my story.
                                      Now i want to hear what do you want to say now.

                                        Ifbthisbis really durable as you say, tell xiaomi to show a drop test multiple times from say for example, an average height person's pocket height, no cases, multiple times. Let's see if the glass is better than say, samsung note 9 or later phones.
