They have been busy with full frame sensors lately.

The successor of Xperia 1 may have 66.6 MP 1/1.5" non-Quadbayer.

Anonymous, 24 Sep 2019Too bad there is no exmor version. They are always better than ... moreThat is debatable, as not all exmors worthy of carrying the name. Some were so laggy that daylight shots were blurry if you didn't hold the camera perfectly still.
I can't remember their respective numbers, but they were produced around 2014.

If you ask me, I'd love to see Canon or Fuji sensors on smartphones, but I don't see that happening in the near future.

Anonymous, 24 Sep 2019Funny how Samsung never use their best tech in their best phones... moreWell maybe because they want to test the tech first, when the tech has mature than they would use it on their own phone

Zendroid, 24 Sep 2019Powerful tablet. No, that size is not a phone! End of discussion! Pay attention to the dimensions. It is about the same size as S10+, and smaller than Note 10+.

S10+: 154.4 x 72.3 x 10.4 mm
Mi Mix Alpha: 157.6 x 74.1 x 7.8 mm
Note 10+: 162.3 x 77.2 x 7.9 mm

The reason it has a 7.92" display is because it curves around the phone. The phone itself is not any bigger to hold than other phones of today.

Powerful tablet. No, that size is not a phone! End of discussion!

ILoveSmartphones, 24 Sep 2019what a beautiful phone, well done Xiaomi, Huawei Mate x looks old... moreThe comparison is asinine. Mi Mix Alpha is still just a phone. Not all that different from Dual-Screen phones such as Nubia X or Vivo Nex Dual Display. It will likely never end up as a industry standard either, for multiple good reasons.

The Mate X & Galaxy Fold are a new form-factor entirely & will likely shape the future of smartphones.

DLLM, 24 Sep 2019Amazing how fast Chinese companies are pushing mobile technologies. They did not create the tech.
They just told Samsung the specs they wanted.

This sensor is just a bigger version of the 48 and 64MP ones. Nothing new about it.

I will definitely wait for full res image at both 27MP and 108MP, I always never been convinced with downscaled photo samples from the company. It could be done through some third party apps or software, we never know.
