It is easy to understand.
Gg wouldn't release a perfect Android phone else other oems will die or must find another Os to compete.
Pixel series is just a show case of Gg algorithm and show how a minimum Android flagship should be.

Still no 256GB version or 8GB RAM.
I don't care about cloud storage. Google is putting all the faith in human vanity.....

You get less for more price , what strategy is?

TechEnthusiast, 03 Oct 2019It has a 90hz refreshed ratio. It will eat up battery in no time. But wait, thay told us that the cpu is more power efficient so we should expect the se SOT.
keeping the capacity the same or something less just be ause the cpu is more efficient is not a good excuse :)
I guess google didnt put a bigger battery because they knew that nobody will use this phone as a daly driver :)

I was just trying to justify somehow this strange battery capacity, im not in to small factor phones and yes, by all means there is always a way for a bigger capacity.

If im going to pay 1000 for a device..is to serve me, not the other way around. I've an iPad mini 4, and never had to worry about him. that peace of mind costs money. I make mobile apps for a leaving so i pass more time with smartphones than the usual person. i don't have facebook/insta/snap/etc. the less time i pass with the phone outside the work the better for me.
Still samsung s10e is on my short list, i like the form factor and not having the curved glass that almost all android flagship devices have its a good thing for me.

iOS even 5 years in the future won't be able to do things Android does now.

Plus there is an extensive community support for s10 over at xda. You are good for the next 4 years with an s10e as far as latest update goes through a custom ROM. This isn't Huawei which locks bootloader.

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2019Galaxy S10e says hi! Samsung s10e is on my short list, but knowing that android 11 will be it last major update while iPhone 11 pro will have 5 more years in front...
my only hopes was google pixel, but google is really bad in design and hardware decisions on smartphone division.

that 2800mAh battery with 90hz screen killed it to me. guess iPhone 11 pro won easy this year for the best compact phone.

6.3 is too small for an XL model. Should be around 6.8 like Note 10+.

Soon, its CURTAIN TIME for Google. They just dont get it...They are not able to understand, that having a great camera only on their middle specced flagship not gonna be enough to compete with the feature-rich top-tier Samsungs,or with the Chinese top specced flagships, which are going on about 60% of their Pixels price.Honestly, the specs are a JOKE (battery capacity, internal memory,RAM,SD 855),not word yet about the pricing, but EVERYBODY knows,it will be Iphone/Note 10 level. The only chance for Google to compete,if they make a MAXIMALLY SPECCED phone, and sell it for 150-200 USD less, than Samsung or Apple, cause they cant offer anything special, like Samsung.

Anonymous, 03 Oct 2019Except that Apple's OS doesn't need the same memory or batt... moreNot sure why this false advertisement still lives on. Each application, both Android and iOS versions, typically use the same amount of RAM when active. The requirements are the same for similar designs. There have been several in-depth engineering videos posted on YouTube that confirm this, and analysis backs it up. It is a very bad misconception that is somehow still floating around and people propagate it. So no, iPhones and Android devices require similar amounts of RAM to do the same tasks. The visible difference is, iOS on iPhone users don't typically complain about the re-loading period for apps that have been recently closed. Testing this myself with many friend's Android and iPhone devices, you can keep the same number of apps open in RAM at once before the OS starts killing the processes to free up memory. Also there are many videos on YouTube that corroborate this. (Google dropped the ball with Pixel 3 because at launch, they had many memory leaks that would use up RAM and cause the OS to kill the last-used application; they since fixed the issue, but their stupidity stuck in people's minds). Regardless, 6GB RAM seems to be the sweet spot for how much memory is necessary for fluid multi-tasking on phones, but of course more is very much welcome.

Also, as another user pointed out: quality issues?!?! why on Earth do Apple customers think this?! After their apple maps fiasco, their antenna gate, bend gate, etc... they have had giant issues with quality in the past (based on reviews, iPhone 11 build quality is admittedly very good). I guess their marketing team and the belief that expensive == high quality really does stick around in people's minds. What's so frustrating is that Google recognizes why Apple has such a strong brand name, and are doing their best to copy their actions. Which means ridiculous prices for us users. And removal of the headphone jack + expandable storage is a direct product of planned obsolescence + corporate greed. It is very easy to implement, but how else will they force consumers to buy new and extremely expensive products?
