Oh I just took a look and found out.. a few phones are sampling at 120Hz. Yay for that extra 10% finger tracking speed that no one needs. Super yay for the definite hit to battery life.

"the phone can't track my fingers fast enough" said no one ever.
"I think my phone battery is too long, and the phone manufacturer should introduce some totally non useful feature that will definitely kill the battery life" said no one ever too.
No one ever said a lot of rubbish, eh?

I guess this only shows most of the people don't actually know what they are talking about when it comes to technology. What does this have to do with the screen???
(Roughly)
Sampling rate in this instance = how many times the screen is scanned for your fingerprint location. 135Hz means that the screen checks the location of your finger 135 times a second. 1 Hz = 1 time per second, your hypothetical cursor will jump to its new location every 1 second. 135 Hz means (in theory) your finger location is scanned 135 times a second, and (in theory) updated 135 times every second.
In theory, it will mean that your fingerprint touches are more accurate when you need to move in fine motions. In computer mouse terms, higher sensitivity mouse, like a gaming mouse.
However, if your screen updates only at 60Hz or 120hz, you actually shouldn't see any immediate difference, because the display can't catch up with the update. BUT the final results should be visible. Every single shudder, micro-movement, mistake you make while drawing or playing game will be captured and magnified.

Anonymous, 09 Oct 2019What is difference between refresh rate and sampling rate, ... moreYou can say its sense at 135hz. Normal phones sense at 60hz and display fps is also 60hz. But x2 pro will use 90hz or 90fps display and will sense touches at 135hz
Newer iPhones senses at 120hz

Anonymous, 09 Oct 2019What is difference between refresh rate and sampling rate, ... moreMaybe Refresh Rate is how many frames per second it can display while sampling rate is how responsive the capacitive display is to the human touch.
