No, ICS doesn't need dual-core processors. Runs just fine on Galaxy S (Teamhacksung's Cyanogen mod 9 Alpha).

I THINK (thats a b... moreSince HTC is giving ICS to its single-cores Desire S/HD and Sony is giving it to the entire Xperia 2011 line which is all single-core devices (and there are custom rom builds for many other single cores) dual cores is not a necessity for ICS. It's just that ICS is supposedely optimized for multi-core CPUs
