"uses RGB displays that should limit the screen-door effect."

LCDs with RGB Pixel arrangement accentuate screen door effect more than an equivalent AMOLED with PenTile arrangement. So what you wrote is the exact opposite of truth.

Stay classy GSMArena with the misinformation.

Many countries bangladesh or Cuba is a good example earns less than 25 eur per month.
So what i want to say prices grows higher from salary. Many many years ago it was iopposite scenario.
Soon most people wont be able to afford practicaly anything.
And this VR reality even is very promising and interesting is too expensive for most people and if HTC will relly only on selling this kind of technology they wont survive long.

AnonD-731363, 13 Oct 2019HTC is crazy asking this much from a company close to extin... moreIf it were phones, yes. However, VR only really has three serious companies in the market. Oculus, HTC and Valve. And while the HTC is indeed asking quite the high price here, they also did the same with the OG Vive. And you only need to look at the majority of VR videos on YouTube to see that a large chunk are using that Vive still. So in this scenario, you either go cheaper and buy Oculus, or you go for the best and buy the Vive. Not to mention that the people who are actually buying VR headsets are the ones who have the money to spend. I mean, if they have an expensive PC to run the games in the highest quality, you get the best hardware to take advantage, which the Vive Cosmos does.

Imagine having a 4k ready PC and your ultra expensive VR headset still not being able to utilize your grunt.

I mean we have 4k gaming for a while and the one place which could utilize the extra pixels (literally having a screen stuck in your face!) doesn't.

Why are VR resolutions so slowly developing. Samsung had a 4k mobile panel by 2015 already, and those VR Googles still can't get their hand on it. I understand that the Samsung one was not VR ready, but in 4 years we should at least had 4k goggles... Even them would seem pixelated but it would have been a start. At 1700p, the thing is bloody unplayable once again... (the screen door effect kills all immersion).

                Bye HTC, die already.

Kind of misleading to use combined resolution for comparison when its about 3D, its about full hd 1440 x 1700px, not the double of that.

What do you mean highest resolution?

Pimax is 4k per eye for a long time, and 8k combined.

Good equipment to play PUBG. Its cheap compared to the money burned to buy gimmicks in the game.

I really hate what HTC did to the entire VR market by pricing their (progenitor) models so astronomically high that others happily followed suit and made VR a expensive niche hobby rather than a mainstream staple for common people.

I think the Vive is the only thing keeping this company afloat right now and they are trying to milk every last penny before closing doors when Facebook or Google release some (very data intrusive) cheaper headsets with more appeal than these things.

                                  How much? 0.0
                                  This price is crazy!
