I really did wrestle between Samsung, Apple & Huawei.
I went for this 8/512GB Note9 with a free bundled 512GB Evo Plus microSD card because it ticked all my boxes & that I got it for less than £1,000 last Black Friday/ Cyber Monday from Samsung's website & it cost less than the 64GB XS Max, so it was a no brainer & I've got zero regrets so far.

Look, apple has superior chipset and their cameras are amazing when it comes to taking pictures of people (potrait mode)
BUT samsung note10+ and iphone 11 pro max cameras can go head to head at best for normal photos. Iphone is for those who want realistic colors, and samsung is for those who want punchy colors.
When it comes to performance, since they both get 60fps max at games (y'know.... their display is 60Hz only) performance doesnt really effect anything if you are not planning to use your phone for over 3 years.
When it comes to build quality, iphones got a stainless steel yes but their glass aint more durable than the one they used on Note10+.
Softwate wise yes iphones are really well optimised but.... customization? Where is it? On Samsung you can (actually some other companies have it even better) you can customize it way too much to yhe point of you being exhausted after customizing everything.
Hardwate-wise your average iphone doesnt have SDcard support and has 64GB base model. 256GB Iphone costs the same with 256GB Note10+ combined with 512GB Samsung Evo Plus SDcard. Samsung has OTG support too soooo......... Ah and you get an S-pen with Note10+
Battery wise yes Iphones lasts longer hats off but they still at 18W while samsung went for 45W when it comes to charging speed. Samsung also has reverse wireless charging to charge your smart watch or earbuds.
Apple and Samsung target different groups of people and none of the arguments going "Z is better!" "HA! Fool W is better" mean nothing. If anything, every phone has their ups and downs and not recognizing what other companies achieved is nothing more than ignorance and foolishness.

And everybody can confirms XS Max by Apple is a lot better than Note 10.
Apart from S Pen Samsung have nothing to impress and i dont think that Biixby, Samsung health, Samsung Internet and lot of other Samsung UI dedicated apps are better.
No matter how they try they are far worse.

The Trade-In was much better before. For a Google Pixel 3 you would get 500$ if I remember correctly. Or even more? Now it's just 250$.
