is it actually possible to make a fully water proof phone? I didn't think you could otherwise how would you charge it - or how would you hear it?

Nokia already had many bullet proof (old) phones which were water proof upto 5 meters but Nokia stop producing such phone becoz no one intrested in such phones and for ur information a test was been performed by DISCOVERY channel in which they tested 5410i and Panasonic tough book both of these gadgets resisted fire explosion, water slash, and impact of 1 or 3 meters and also this where tied to truck and moved over rough terrain they were still working.

with this kind of mediocre performance..
                                  it won't stand a chance...

there are more toughly protected phones out there which offers far more sophisticated features..

                                  like 5500.. fo example..

it would be interesting if its waterproof..
                                    not splash proof..

good to know that some mobile-phone manufacturers finally made another rugged phones.
