If it wasnt 90hz screen, it would be just a bad phone. Snapdragon 855 instead od 855+, no fingerprint, big bezels, no wide angle camera, small battery, limited cloud, not so bright display, no headphone jack or even adapter in the box, a bit weird colour combinations, storage starting at 64gb for a flagship, this radar thing doesnt seems to work properly - ergo jut a gimmick and so on...

I like how you said it: "there's a little bit of forehead" as it's obvious that's actually "huuuuge". This would have been a great device if it would've had these changes: 1. loose the damn forehead and go for an UD fingerprint sensor, 2. with only 2 main cameras there are tons of better options design wise compared to this stupid square that breaks the simplicity and elegance of this device, 3. It's end of 2019 soon, sd855+ and 8gigs of RAM plus more storage should be the norm for a flagship. With these being said, no wonder Google phone sales are not in the charts as there are better options and more popular phones on the market. A waste of potential in my opinion, they have the resources to challenge Samsung and Apple but fail just as Microsoft did.

Tried comparing night scene with my D600 at ISO6400 against K20 Pro with Gcam, I am amaze that the quality is comparable! Its a old cam, but no way 400USD get you a full frame.

Why ISO6400, its the ISO required to sustain reasonable shutter speed for sharp image even on a f2.8 OIS lens. How i wish modern dSLR/mirrorless have a night scene mode.

Definitely welcome the addition of telephoto camera, I already had enough for too long with cropped digital zooming.

But hang on a minute, 28mm wide and 45mm telephoto? Does that mean that the telephoto camera only has a 1.6x optical zoom instead of the mentioned 2x? I've seen 1.6x optical zoom before with the OnePlus 5.

That's one sad battery and slow charging for a 90hz screen.

If I wanted an overpriced phone that skimps on storage and RAM on the base storage, lacks a headphone jack and adapter, has a tiny battery for smaller phone, and lacks expandable storage, I'd get an iPhone.

                            There. Rant over.

Supposedly the Just Black has a glossy smooth back texture to the glass where as Orange and White are matte "frosted glass" feeling can you confirm this difference?

Also, do all 3 have the same texture along the edge? Looks like Google made it a rough texture now for easy holding, which is a welcome change after the 3a's smooth and glossy edges can make t feel slippery.

Who sto... moreAgreed... ffs even the whole like what 1st 4-5 pararaphs of the article are entirely about the camera alone! Imho what's supposed to be the true Android flag bearer should further push a SMARTPHONE's envelope, not just about becoming a fancier camera that happens to be able to make calls, get on the internet and share dumb shots on social media. All of these cam module + imaging software tricks, only for people to screw those over anyways to most socmed apps' uploads' compression in the end.....

Smartphones are still NOT the "converged" modern PDA that we can dock at home IMMEDIATELY after work to fire up a proper desktop mode and equally on the go we shouldn't worry about fast charging. Again these latest Pixels boggles the mind with its batt capacities. Not exactly cheap to boot.

I'm beginning to understand why OEMs like Asus have their Asus ROG Phone 2 "gaming" phone even if it's niche. They at least have the common sense that there's actually a healthy set of user base out there who just don't really care about that "'gram" life and would rather get their money's worth out of top SoCs firepower. They just can't look at Pixels as the Android "halo" product anymore and might as well risk it w/ separate product strategies.

But how can you claim to be the best camera phone on the market when it lacks so many things.

                                      -No Ultrawide camera.
                                      -No 960fps recording.
-No expandable storage and limited internal storage to store all those gigantic 4k recordings.
-No 4k at 60fps even though the HW supports it.
-Still poor video recording quality compared to other flagships.
