HTC Sense is so thickly integrated with the OS that they can't just slap a different OS on beneath it without doing a major rebuild. Also Sense gobbles up almost as much of the system resources as the OS itself. Basically, the reason why some HTC phones won't get ICS is that HTC either can't get them to work with Sense or, more likely, can't be bothered to put in the effort to get them to work.

The article is NOT useless, actually is very interesting, if it is true.
WHY? because if it's true, it's clear that ICS can run in an acceptable manner ad least, without bugs, on a low (from now) hardware HTC Droid.
Beside the fact that HTC has denied several times that ICS can run on such hardware and now it proves othervise, this a wonderful news for HD2, Desire (not S) and similar HTCs owners, because this version of ITC can be succesfully imported to those phones and bug free! XDA developers will have a good time ;)
