I wanted to buy Redmi Note 7 but I will go for Mi 8 Lite instead. Metal premium looking body instead of plastic. Faster. Camera and battery life aren't important for me.

I had a redmi note 4g, first note in India i think. After two years the side bottons r gone in that. Now my redmi 4 is going to finish 3 years.

Let's not forget that Xiaomi is a chinese brand, and if chinese manufacturers are known for something it's their ability to decieve, lie, and zig-zag with half truths.

I probably wouldn't be too surprised if like 70 millions out of those 100 were just devices they moved from one warehouse to another.

Anders, 16 Oct 2019So their cheaper phones with more features like headphone j... moreMore likely because that price segment has more buyers than higher tier price segments.

In the higher tiers more buyers are also highly prone to marketing and brand recognition, rather than actual knowledge of the devices available and opting for the one most suitable to their needs. These groups are slower to adapt to new brands, as what they already know must obviously be better, in their mindsets, because it is a (fill in name of brand).

Yes, Xiaomi has sold more than 100M Redmi Note devices. And 1 1/2 to 2 years from now, those 100 million Redmi Note devices will mysteriously become ultra slow charging after owners install their last few or final MIUI updates. Ultra slow charging = something like 16-24 hours to charge a 4000mAh Redmi phone from 0% to 100% with the phone turned off. (Much longer if turned on). Trust me. I've had three, 2-year old Xiaomi devices mysteriously experience ultra slow charging after their final MIUI updates before they became unsupported. Planned Obsolescence - Xiaomi style. My advice? Keep on buying Xiaomi but don't ever make the mistake of installing those last few MIUI updates especially if your Xiaomi phone is approaching 2 years old from release date.

You may rather consider placing order to a Chinese factory with these specifications or even more specific demands, like specific screen type, specific charging port, specific body material and specific volume of storage and RAM

I feel bad for those 100 million users tho. Scammed.

Happy Redmi Note 4 user here :) Hope Xiaomi releases Redmi Note 8T with Snapdragon 730G, MIUI 11 with Android 10, at least 4500mAh battery and no bigger than 6.4" screen and maximum 75mm wide, then I will buy

You can wash and reuse handkerchief for years to come. Encounter any minor dirt or water, then just wash it, reuse.
And tissue paper, use once, throw. Touch any dirt or water, throw. Because its cheap, and it can't take the pressure.

So their cheaper phones with more features like headphone jacks and micro SD are selling better than their more expensive phones which have fewer features..?

Huh. That's weird. It's almost as if people don't like paying more money for less usability...
