21 October 2019
The scanner can be bypassed with non-registered fingerprints with the help of a silicone cutout.

according to a video on some twitter Galaxy Tab 6 (which has SD855 and only optical reader) also suffers from this problem.

Oh well, the good old PIN and Pattern lock is still the best. Iris scanner is still a neat feature though, the one in my Microsoft Lumia 950 XL still works brilliantly well.

It's clear that both Face recognition & fingerprint readers are unsecure. We need DNA scanners in our phones. Take technology to the creepy territory.

And this is why Face ID and the like (3D mapping) are more secure. Keep it simple guys. Button fingerprint scanners or just plain fingerprint scanners.

I don't get how different kinds of cpu can affect the fingerprint scanner?

It's AI algorithm along with registration and scanning, basically entire mechanism needs to be retested. Hopefully not a hardware issue but the test is not consistently unlocking unregistered fingers but it is good enough for taking this up immediately for fixing.....the screen protector seems to be carrying residue of some registered fingerprints....it is one of the plausibility

Vaio Agent, 21 Oct 2019Mr.Trump where are you? faster start your tech war, SAMSUNG... moreYou did read that the snapdragon variants are unknown to have this problem. This maybe just an instruction set problem. I'm more interested if other phones with ud fp scanners have the same issue or not. It maybe it's a technology derp that no one has found(because tech reviewers are so thorough).

I don't know why the hell they remove the fingerprint scanners from the back? On the back you can shape it as the logo anyone have. Why they are so locked in a box? And direct contact with the scanner always will be faster and you can add some features and swipe.

In screen is the worst type by far.
S10e does not have these kind of issues.
