Absolutely no excuses for not providing 4k 60fps. Others who don't use it can continue to not use it. Those who want it should be provided the required features. After all its a flagship not a Budget device or a midranger.

Issue here is they disabled it in software when the hardware can support, giving user no choices. Ain't android all about choices?

The Pixel 4/4XL got a pretty garbage camera (for 2019 standards anyway). 1/2.55" sensor is small, 2x optical zoom isn't really useful, 12mp main cam, maximum of 120fps... either Google doesn't care about the Pixel's camera or they think that people don't need those stuff. Most flagship phones got 1/2" sensor and bigger, 240fps minimum slow motion framerate and better cameras (for example: better telephoto, ultrawide/monochrome etc). It's a shame really. Only thing Google does good (with cameras) is technology I guess.

I have 4K video supporting smartphones since 2015 and I never used that resolution.99% videos are watched in smartphones so, why waste more space?besides,60fps is useful in action cams that are mounted to body or helmets for shooting fast moving occasions.So,30fps is also OK for handheld cameras.

It's not just about what we need or what majority use, they basically downgrade. Not that I pay, pixel fans should care.

It's simple really why there's no 4k 60fps. Given that 4K 60fps consumes twice as much storage as 4K 30fps and the highest storage option on the Pixel 4/4XL phones is 128GB. It will be filled up rather quickly given Pixel phones have no memory card expansion. Google can come up with excuses like 4K 60fps is not good to use in low light. But still, not all 4K videos are done in low light. Many are actually done during the day or under bright lighting conditions. Videos under these ideal conditions certainly can benefit from ultra smooth, hyper real 4K 60fps action videos that would render a 30fps video recording too choppy. And no, 1080p 60fps is a poor substitute for 4K 60fps. 4K is 4 times the resolution of 1080p. There's no going around that fact.

Nope, we want 8K, and 108mp stills. Google just want to save some space they offer for free. In the end you are left with reduced image quality, smoothness.

Google do have a point. I myself record 1080p most of time. While I do record at native 4K, I'll downscale it to 1080p. 60fps has never been my concern, I still prefer 30fps or 24fps myself.

I used to use 1080p 60fps but i have now downgraded it to 30fps. I think Google is right in their own way. If they can give us 1080p or 4k 30fps at its best quality I'm more than happy. Only numbers doesn't bother me.

The Pixel is so much overated.
It is being compared with Samsung and Apple Flagships.
It should have been compared only with the mid ranger phones since it is a mid ranger phone.
Just because it is made by Google people loose their minds.

Andrei80, 22 Oct 2019I have 128GB storage, but still use 1080p 30fps and HVEC. I... morebut you what if you replay that on your laptop, smart tv, projector?! you are so thinking small that you limit yourself to viewing only on your phone... unless that is the only viewing screen you have.
