I bought a S10+ after knowing about all of this and I was still never able to unlock it without using my fingerprints, tried both before and after applying screen protectors, and I've had the original screen protector, an aftermarket glass one (local store-bought one, it wasn't amazing so I got a refund) and now I'm back to an original replacement screen protector from Samsung while I wait for my whitestone screen protector to arrive.
With those 3 I was never able to fool the fingerprint.

Your thumb rests on it naturally. A side one works fine too, but a rear one is inconvenient if you want to unlock your phone on the table. It's also inconvenient if it is placed in a position (too high, too low) that does not naturally fit the user's index finger position.

From what i see, you still c... moreJust installed the update, it works as fast as it ever has for me if not faster after reregistering my fingerprints. Still using the factory screen protector with which you can't unlock it without the right fingerprint.

Some people don't know that so they put the glass on top the factory screen protector which is why it caused issues. Also stop being so clumsy with your 1000+ phone. I have a S10 5G I only have a case on it but use no glass screen protector because I'm very careful with my device!

Just got the update specifically for the finger print fix, the update file size is only around 4mb... I hope it really does fix the issue..

worst sensor ever coupled with worst face unlock, samsung should not be in hurry to drop every essential element of a device be it headphone jack or security locking

Why sending the updates only to those with fingerprints registered? What if I removed it because it's insecure but waiting for the update to use the feature again

So not having a screen protector on a 1000 eur phone thats ridiculous.
Hope samsung gives 2 years of free screen replacement.
Rather would have badly working fingerprint reader with issues than unprotected screen which cost 300-400 to repair.
And they way the fixed it and is not for everybody is also a tragedy.
What if a person which did not used finger print reader so he didnt get the fix update will register the fin gerprints after the patch. Because the patch is only for those who already have their fingerprints registered and they use fingerprint reader.
Sorry to say but to me this company is really sorry.
