That's not particularly impressive. China operations are unaffected by the ban, some Chinese companies have even offered incentives for their employees to buy Huawei phones as a token of support, and they still have a bulk of unaffected products like the P30 series.

I like Huawei, but the USA - China trade war has obligated Huawei to resort to a marketing campaign of exaggeration in order to present a healthy face to the public. There is no way Huawei is doing even better than last year when the best products of Huawei and Honor wont ship out of China. Yes the P30 is an excellent phone but that is all they got. Where are the honor 20's and the true honor 9X's? Where are the Huawei Novas? Where I live the only honor phones you see are the Honor 8x and from Huawei's mid range segment the Y9 prime and P-Smart and P30 lite, which are not that competitive in the mid-range segment anymore.

I'm the same way that mandarin is "the world's most spoken language" except.. it's only spoken in China and can't compete with English... They might become the no.1 phone seller based on domination in CHINA. but they will need a whole lot of a long way to go to beat Samsung worldwide outside China where mobiles are so cheap

If so then it will be possible only for great camera performance specially in night time. So one thing is clear if you want to gain popularity as a smartphone then you have to improve your camera performance specially in night time.
