WILL definitely look into this. Hopefully they'll release it outside of China, but it'll take a couple of months for the official Mi stores to stock it if it becomes available in SEA...

Fayth, 29 Oct 2019gonna say it looks like Apple Watch, but afraid of Mi fansI agree, but at the same time the apple watch is pretty much like any other rectangular watch, just in a smart watch format. Generally speaking there aren't many overall watch types, what typically separates them are the watch faces, dials etc. Other than that they are all either circular or rectangular in the vast majority.
So for my sake apple's tradmark "smartwatch face" are those many tiny circles/icons.
Fitbit, Sony, Samsung they all look pretty much the same as well. Same goes for Motorola, Hauwei, Ticwatch, Amazfit etc round smartwatches.
To me this looks awful, apart from the strap. That one is nice enough, but not great.
I'm sticking to my Mi Band instead. Whilst not a cirlcle, as I prefer my watches and would go for in a smartwatch, it at least is just a strap/band and not a clunky rectangle on my wrist.
Smartwatches are too clunky, especially square and rectangular ones, and battery doesn't last long at all. If they lasted a month at the time, then sure it would be worth considering, in a round format.

We all know that Xiaomi devices have excellent battery life. Just looking at the Mi Band 4 it lasts for around 2 weeks on a single charge.
Just bring us NFC with Google Pay Internationally and I will be buying one.

Main reason why Apple Watch lasts so much less time is because it's capable of running almost anything that runs on a phone (still needs some adaptation though). Unlike other watches that have very limited app support. Also it has way more sensors that are active all the time. I actually really like Xiaomi, but this is a really blatant Apple Watch copy. Come on Xioami, you make beautiful phones that look nothing like iPhones and then you go and copy the watch down to bloody rotating crown. Square design I'd even be fine with, no one holds monopoly over shape. But that crown just sticks out so badly...
