A friend got MIUI 11 stable on Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Global, works fine but has some battery drain.
What does suck more is that Mi Max 2 got MIUI 11 but still runs on Nougat 7.1.1

Great news for Xiaomi fans. Part of the reason I love Xiaomi is that they provide MIUI update even to older and budget phones. I can sense the happiness the owners of these phones must be feeling. But Xiaomi really need to eliminate the ads inside some inbuilt apps.
