22 March, 2012
You can download the Alpha release and try it out - a lot of things are working, but it's far from complete.

Wish we could get a Maemo port for Android phones *sigh*
I actually switched to Android after owning a N900 (skipped the n9 cuz well it was a dead OS)
I figured Android would be even more powerful than my n900. (technically it is specs wise)
                    But the Os is 8% OS, 92% ad-ware - bloatware - junkware.

even rooted there's only so much you can remove, Really ads in my notification bar.. really?

So turns out Although my Android phone has awesome specs, its not as fluid as Maemo / Meego. (i don't understand why heh) Meego is an amazing operating system. and I can only wish it becomes revived int he future. (Or ported to Android, definately wouldn't mind dual booting it)

I don't see the point having ICS in such an outstanding and unique device. I wouldn't do it, that's for sure.

Interesting project and kudos to the people behind it, however, IMHO, the strength of N9 lies in its fast, sleek and intuitive OS (MeeGo). Still, I would give it a try just for the fun of modding.

This is ok, but why have Android over Harmattan? if somebody could just get android or iOS apps running on on the N9 it would be the best Phone on the market..
