Report: Apple’s 16-inch MacBook Pro may arrive Wednesday

12 November 2019
Apple has yet to announce its existence, but it may be as soon as Wednesday.

I was forced to use OS X because of my university, and I hated it.
This was during the horrible era of Windows Vista, but shortly after Windows7 came and rescued us all. And eventually OS X got better and better, and so did the Macbook's, but Windows Laptops kept falling behind. And that's how I got into the Mac ecosystem, it was lacklustre hardware combined with the dreaded Windows 8 software.

Now?
Macs have lost their appeal. Catalina brought Limited iOS Compatibility at the expense of OS X 32bit compatibility = horrible tradeoff. They've removed a couple of other useful functions. And the new style is usually good (some are bad), but not very consistent throughout. Yet, we're still waiting on user experience functions like to be able snap windows, or move the Top Bar, or combine it with the outdated Dock. So yes, my old MacBook is beginning to be outdated, and yes I regret updating the software. In the future, I would more likely be using a Laptop and Windows10 Pro instead (or dualbooting).

From a design and usability point, I'm seeing far more innovation coming from Desktop OS'es built from Android-x86 and Linux Distros. Such as Remix OS, Prime OS, Pheonix OS and Openthos. And in the Linux side there's Pop OS, ZorinOS, ElementaryOS, Deepin, Solus OS. There's even a Hybrid-Android-Linux Distro called FlydeOS (based on ChromiumOS). And remember, most of these are crafted by only one or few developers, with little to no budgets. So there's little excuse to be made for the huge companies like Microsoft, Apple, or Valve to make unattractive, confusing, or unintuitive user experiences.
