They're right - knowledge is power. The UK, for example, is arguably leaving the EU due to the new regulations due to force revelation of offshore banks money so that people cannot hide their tax liabilities any longer (the richest elites, that is, and money laundering etc). Whilst the common man cannot even pay £500 in cash into a friend's bank account without ID and such being recorded. For money laundering (lies about 'funding terrorism' is a smokescreen, it's about funding ANYTHING they don't control - including non-violent political resistance, face it, it will be a future issue and they PLANNED FOR THIS WELL IN ADVANCE).
Cash = freedom.
Cashless societies are idiots, long-term, intelligent short-medium term. Saving time via automation, has NOT reduced the hours people work, instead has forced them to live faster and more forced-convenience lives and be squeezed and stressed harder by those who CONTROL the technology and systems that this automation is defined by.
GDP rises, but average pay lowers, and per capita share of GDP lowers. A LOT. (TUC figures from 1981 - 2011 approx show instead of an increase in share of the wealth (GDP share per capita increase) there was even a 5% DEcrease. Seems not much to worry about? It should've been perhaps a 25% INcrease at least! Whilst huge efficiency savings came into effect over that period of time due to huge improvements in technology).
Rip-Off Britain is why. A pathetic economy where being good and intelligent at management is shunned and disrespected for being tough, slaves, and jealous for crumbs from each other.
We're stupid.

You are lucky that at least one app is supported. In Bulgaria not even one app for android works with Bulgarian banks.

In the UK Samsung Pay is not supported by many banks or credit card providers, whereas Google Pay is widely supported and apart from Apple Pay is probably the most common type of phone contactless payment system.

Even equal if not bett... moreGoogle pay and Apple pay are equal, Apple pay is even better cause it supports more banks and more countries, Samsung pays “trump card” is useless in the EU as basically all card readers support nfc, haven’t seen one without nfc in the last 4-5 years, if you live in china Samsung/apple/google pay is rather useless as everybody uses either ali pay or wechat pay

That is a good thing, Apple has monopoly on almost everything when you buy an iPhone. It's a very closed ecosystem. My iPhone 6 can't even send or receive files over bluetooth, very pathetic. Though iOS has its benefits, it also has many disadvantages and restrictions.
