I think Mark II would be a better name than ".1" imo

    Omasha90, 18 Nov 2019It's heart breaking to see Sony struggling like this, they ... moreExcept battery life, Z4 and Z5 were much better than Z3.
    Better cpu/gpu, faster connectivity, stronger glass, cpaless usb, better cam skills etc.

      And it still boggles my mind the fact that it's near 2020 already and nobody still hasn't caught up to Sony in 4K HDR smartphone screen master race.
      I do believe it's just right for consumers to expect the highest possible screen resolution for a 2020 flagship that'll obviously cost over $1000.
      And no, the Xperia 1 doesn't have 4K screen only for showing off. In fact, it's perfectly calibrated to the level of directors' monitors to achieve "virtually indistinguishable from perfect" display.
      The mere fact that DisplayMate is refusing to conduct proper and honest tests towards the Xperia 1's display proves that it's an exceptional panel and one that could easily dethrone every Samsung, Apple, and Google phones in their list.
      If they're confident that the phone wouldn't perform any better, then they should have no worries trying out an Xperia, but I guess that's not the case here.

        So are they going to gimp their flagships by having no 3.5 mm socket again?

          It's heart breaking to see Sony struggling like this, they used to make perfect phones, the last one was Z3.

            Source says 0 uses 5K screen. Which is 5040 x 2160.

              vrvly, 18 Nov 2019If that 12mp output will be as sharp as mate30pro per pixel... moreTrue to life and HDR in the same photo is kinda impossible.
              As you make hdr stronger, it leads you to wrong colours.
              The strongest hdr is note10, cloudy gray sky end up with strong blue hue and saturated warm colors.

                vrvly, 18 Nov 2019If that 12mp output will be as sharp as mate30pro per pixel... moreMy guess:

                48MP = wide
                12MP = mono
                16MP = 2x zoom
                20MP = ultra wide
                8MP = periscope

                  If that 12mp output will be as sharp as mate30pro per pixel it will be good, even if missing almost double resolution, best in class hdr, I mean auto hdr is also a must. True to life colors is where sony does well, they lag though in overall picture quality according to whats on dxo.
                  Hopefully they can do some serious output for 2x tele and for their mid range too, considering what can do minote10.

                    0 would be 5K screen. The 12MP f1.2-2.4 monochrome. The 48MP would be 1/1.5", but not Quad bayer.
                    Certification agency points a model K9170 with 4200mAh. That would be probably the 1.1.

                    Glad Sony does not use for flagships old stuff like gorilla 5, usb 2.1 or screen from cheap supplier.

                      It's funny how every upcoming android phone design is copied from iphone 11
