Has anyone ever seen the wildly advertised HTC Sense website working? It never did anything for me, so, no biggie here...

I can understand the use case where someone might not get the notice from HTC to do this required back up before HTCSense.com is renovated, but ultimately, if you rely that much on the internet you should be smart enough to back up your data internally!

I don't know how people can lose their own data? Take proper care of what's yours first before you trust others to do it for you (for free most times).

And tbh, I was pleasantly surprised at this news because it shows that HTC are not providing this service to MINE User Data (or build an online identity for you that helps other stakeholders ADVERTISE to you directly, or for any other reason), but they are in it for the HTC customers first - and the quality the HTC users demand.

Well Done HTC, I hope the new site turns out great.

haha, it's like Motorola not letting you download and install an Android security update unless you agree to duplicate your sensitive data into Motorola's hands.

It really is such a non customer focused industry.

Oh well, onto the next gimmick to distract us from not getting what we actually want.

Would much prefer data to be deleted than having it mess up current data or someone having to see your data to fit it in with the new system!

This service was a backup, it's not as if they are deleting all your contacts from your phone. You still have the data. They are also giving you plenty of notice of the change and a chance to save the backed up version of your data.

The service as it was, was quite lacking, so I hope we will see a big improvement in the new service when it is re-launched.

Downright shocking to aay the least, yet another reason to be happy leaving HTC for Samsung... They really should be ashamed of themselves doing this!
