So are these 5G only or is there a 4G and a 5G?

Never mind the identical looks & LCD. The rest of the specs for the price is a bargain as always by Honor.

Still got eye fatigue when looking at OLED in long period though, maybe thats just me. They using high quality IPS LCD anyway. I just stick with my Mate 20 at the moment, which got the highest brightness ever on a LCD phone.

So i guess it's reasonable to expect OLED from these $470+ phones from Honor.

I'm sure we'd continue to see LCD displays on less popular brands.

A dual hole punch display and a meaninglessly large rectangular camera bump on the back? That's some hopelessly ugly design, I must say.
The camera setup looks very impressive considering its price, though...

The only other phones with dual SA/NSA 5g at the moment are the Mate 30 phones which are a lot more expensive. There will be a few new ones released soon from Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo but with midrange processors. This is a big selling point in China

DrakeX, 26 Nov 2019No OLED, no buy. Nuff said. Also, they increased the price ... moreOLED brightness is poor compared to LCD and also the whites. Not a fan of OLED at all

Whackcar, 26 Nov 2019There are a ton of OLED phones out there for you to choose ... moreThe amount of phones with OLED is the reason why I think this phone is less worth it's money. A lot of companies are jumping in the OLED bandwagon this year, even the regular Mate 30 uses OLED, even the A30 uses OLED. Why should Honor skimp on the display? The only reason people didn't like the Zenfone 6 was because it didn't have an OLED (it's still a really good phone though). 2018 was kinda acceptable for it to exist.

Burn-in is inevitable but when does it actually become noticeable? I used to rant about OLED but then again, reading comments from S8, S9, etc. users, they still seem to be content with it. I shifted from the Mate 10 to the Mi 9T and I'm not going back to IPS. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying LCD is bad, Sony and Apple IPS have proven to be pretty darn good but when it comes to other brands, why settle with an objectively inferior display? Just my 2 cents.

LCD phones will continue to exist for the lower-end / mid-range since it's cheaper to make. I think the next step should be microLED, the absolute no compromises display but atm, it's really expensive to make.

And when it comes to market share, Honor is a strong brand. No doubt it's increasing. The V30 is the first Honor phone with 5G so I think that is what can drive the sales of this phone.

Do phone manufacturers only have one designer?

Phone designs these days are getting ridiculous.
You can't tell them apart anymore. Only the logo tells the difference.

Remember where phones used to all look different.

I understand with this all screen trend, its difficult to stand out. But I mean... Cmon!

DrakeX, 26 Nov 2019No OLED, no buy. Nuff said. Also, they increased the price ... moreThere are a ton of OLED phones out there for you to choose from. It's marketshare is only gonna increase going forward.

So let there be a few LCD options. There are still some users who prefer LCDs due to their longevity & lack of burn-in issues.

Personally, I prefer OLEDs. But I don't want LCDs to go extinct. Kind of like how 16:9 ideal display ratio has gone extinct in favor of gimmickry ultrawide displays.

                              That orange is awesome.

                              The double-punch-hole LCD isn't.

No OLED, no buy. Nuff said. Also, they increased the price compared to it's predecessor. Currently, the V20 is almost half the price, more value for your money.

My eyes hurt from this dual punch-hole design
