Anonymous, 03 Dec 2019Jony Ive is part of the problem.True, his good years lie a long, long time behind him. The dreaded notch design that's plaguing Apple (and some thoughtless imitators) for far too long already is certainly the single most awful design decision that anyone has ever come up with, and it was high noon for Apple to fire this buffoon who has long lost any creative spirit.

          Nothing will change.. Everyone left are still his apprentices. Apple didn't get a NEW design officer from another phone manufacturer right?? Everyone left are still the same. No different from him.

                  If Apple is the client of Jony, then Jony now has to listen to Apple and not vice versa. The design language of Apple will probably move in a radically new direction, either good or bad.

                                      respect, please. i hated apple for the longest time for their greed, but ive's designs for them were highly regarded in industrial design circles all around the world. i dabbled in industrial design while working part-time for a wrought iron furniture company as a junior/apprentice designer when i was in college. i have attended design seminars here in the philippines and internationally for that job, and i have found industrial design elitists often refer to him for young designers to emulate. this was before iphones as ives have designed for apple from since the 90s. i didn't know much about his personal life, that's why i commented here before in gsma doubting his sexuality, but as far as designs i have nothing but respect.
