Its same as 720p camera with excellent hardware quality can have better video as a bad camera with 4k. Again not all 720p s are same and not all 4Ks are same. I learned this ehile working with multiple Arri cameras. Alexa can have better videos, but even mid range pro consumer DSLRs With much inferior lens and hardware setup can take better Pictures beacuse the hardware is designed specifically for that purpose.

AnonD-754814, 29 Nov 2019According to you 48MP should be better than 108MP . That's ... morePixelcount does not mean quality. Compare some old phones with 20 or more mpx and you will see that modern 12mpx phones crush them in terms of overall quality.

Shanti Dope, 29 Nov 2019I don't get why it has to be 108MP high in resolution and b... moreWho knows !!!
It can be a 80 MP one. Actually I was hoping for 80MP with 1.0micro pixel size. That would do great.

Oh, and how about getting rid of the overly bright HDR effect of the camera?
The S10 produced overly vibrant images, and if I weren't a fan of bright and even exposure, I'd already install GCAM immediately for how inaccurate the phone captured the scene's colors and exposure.
HDR could work great without being overly aggressive. Pixels and iPhones could do it, and if Samsung wants to prove that they're as good as those two in the software side, then they must first show it on here by offering much better image processing algorithms.

I don't get why it has to be 108MP high in resolution and be highly confident that Quad Bayer would do well in low light.
When they could've saved up some pixels for, say around 80MP (20MP in Quad Bayer) for the same sensor size and get much better low light performance, they chose to go all out, and for no real good at all.
20MP is still plenty sharp. I don't find the necessity for 7MP more pixels, especially if it means it'll sacrifice low light quality considerably bad.
Also, it would make the sensor cheaper, as the pixels would be larger individually, and no need for more complex and expensive tools to manufacture them, since smaller pixels require smaller machines, which drives the cost up higher.

AnonD-754814, 29 Nov 2019Why are you comparing OnePlus with Samsung ? OnePlus can't ... moreOnePlus was the first company doing a separate sensor for "nightly" reasons but failed.

Samsung will resurrect this trend and see what they can do.

Besides I highly hope Samsung won't waste a sensor to do better at night(it will be better if they implement a dedicated video camera sensor instead). They are using quad byer 108MP. That should do better enough in low light.

AnonD-754814, 29 Nov 2019I think you've got it wrong. It's just the naming. I'm just curious on their separate sensor if it works better than Oneplus' implementation during 5T.

even if this new sensor from Samsung will be the best in night mode, they needs to hire a poet for their marketing term.

Or, probably this is just a fancy marketing term for Samsung's new generation 108MP sensor, like Huawei's naming on its RYYB sensor ("SuperSensing" sensor is what they call it).
