Turboant X7 electric scooter review - a Xiaomi Mijia M365 killer?

08 December 2019
The Turboant X7 has a removable battery, high load capacity and tubeless tyres, in a compact form factor, similar to the popular Xiaomi m365.

The comments about acceleration are strange to me.
I purchased this scooter along with the HiBoy S2 for my kids this Christmas, and have ridden both on the advanced settings. I am 180lbs at 5'-11", and while both have the 350W motors, the TurboAnt accelerates noticeably faster than than the HiBoy S2. Not only that, but the pnuematic tires of the X7 are so much nicer than the supposed shock abosorbing wheels of the S2...of course, I say this having not experienced a flat tire...and it has only been a few days, but we live on a gravel road, and solid tires on a gravel road make for a jarring ride. Once on pavement, the air cushioning is still very noticeable, but probably only if switching from one scoot to the other. -Oh, and over speed bumps, the X7 does not scrape like the S2.
I REALLY like the tunability, and thanks to this site, I was able to figure out how to gain access to the hidden menu -not that I have made any changes, as the X7 was fast right out of the box.
I do like the app on the S2, and it would be nice if the X7 had the same.

Final comment. Batteries for the X7 are only $130...you do not have to purchase from TurboAnt...I purchased mine from Levi scooters. Why TurboAnt is asking $300 while another supplier of the same scooter is only asking $130 is anyone's guess. But the $130 is more in line with what you should be paying for a Li-Ion battery of this capacity.

I wouldn't even wildly dream of taking this off road, but India's roads are not the smoothest.
At many a places there're construction defects, raised speed breakers, potholes, etc. so that leaves no choice but to limit the usage of this electro-scoot to known-to-be-comfortable roads only.

If you're wondering why, then let me say, we were developing well, but most of us fell for some internet propoganda and chose the wrong government in 2014, so situation is not likely to improve anytime soon now...

However, it is best suited for roads and level surfaces. Mechanically, it can take a lot of abuse. However, tyres are the weakest link. The inner tubes tend to wear out frequently. Still, the upgraded 3rd generation outer tyres from CST , combined with stronger inner tubes and some SLIME gel on the inside pretty much fix that issue. Bottom line, if you avoid offroading, the m365 is a no-brainer for its price, performance, quality, parts availability as well as community, accessories and mods.

i hope you can now do regular reviews for electric personal transport gadgets.

          Thanks for this Review GSMArena.

Mi has just started its offline sales in India, so most likely the first available to us, might be the Mijia, but of course, let's be positive.
I think I can get one for my daily commute, its a great idea for cheap commute in the crowded cities of India.

Bad Roads in India, will be the biggest challenge on this though... The suspension just doesn't seem adequate.
          Any thoughts, @GSMArena team?

i didn't expect to see electric scooter review on gsmarena, interesting, i wonder if you could consider reviewing high resolution audio players such as sony walkman nw-zx507 and nw-a100 or astell and kern kann cube as well, i would like to see how interesting some people who are not familar with high resolution audio players will comment, it's a brick at 13mm or a breezeblock at 22mm and how large the bezels are as if it's from 2006 era.

I used this scooter. And tires leak air. I also got punctures but without puncture even just going over bumps it leaks some air. And grips are not great unless you have giant hands. You shall invest in good grips. Turning is not stable considering heavy front as well. And range is shorter than mentioned in review. You better have 2nd battery in backpack to ride without worries about returning home. Except that it is nice .

This is a brilliant review, actually, with its honnest listing of pros and cons! Though I'm not into electric scooters (yet...) I enjoyed reading some 'off-topic' stuff here on gsmarena (ok, today it's a rainy sunday...). Thx!
