pricewise, comparing xperia 1 to other flagships, it is a steal, imagine here in the philippines, from 47,000php it is now down to 37,000php and that is about 700usd already...

Sony f***ed up their mobility branch so badly. I loved the xperia Z Compact lineup but all of their phones were like 20% too expensive. Also: Sony's UI was never great, Specs were on par with other brands, Screens were great but sadly always LCD (before XZ3) - and the final neck breaker: their camera software was just horrible. The only big niche they fit in was different designed phones. Sadly they changed the designs to something horrible with buttons positioned way too high, cameras and fingerprint scanner way too low, big bezels, no rounded corners. I am only a user and can read comments. Though there are sony fanboys even those seemed to be fed up with choices of sony. Like HTC they could be big winners of the smartphone race, but they got lost in lazyness and somehow bad ceo-ism...too bad.

Sony Xperia 1 did not have T-Mobile US band 71 the most important band for T-Mo customers in the future for 5G.
T-Mo US customers, don't buy it.

Not cheap considering it's dxo performance. As opposed to sony alpha. Wish it gets better now with their collaboration.

And? Still expensive. Every phone that costs more than 500€ is expensive, unless you trully use all of its features and power.
Nowadays Xiaomi and One Plus are having far better deals for their flagship phones.
And if you don't need all that power from a Sd8xx, there are plenty of good mid-range phones with Sd7xx, that costs around 300€.

$700 lol. Save that n get the s11 in 3 months

People are really d**b nowadays. Obviously that price is sky high, but is that really the only price for the phone?
There are thousands of local and online stores worldwide. Definitely at least one will have much lower prices than this, and let me tell you, I already found one that's about the same price as a used Galaxy Note 9. Yes, an original Xperia 1, not a second hand nor modified whatsoever.
Google is just one search away from the thing you're looking for.

Anonymous, 10 Dec 2019Another overpriced pverhyped brand goes soon to be gone lik... moreOverhyped? LMAO they aren't even as popular as Vivo phones, let alone Samsung and Apple ones. Get your statements right before making such conclusions.

And obviously if you speak based solely on specs, then you wouldn't know how good a product really is.
What may not be for you may be for others.

And don't even compare Sony to HTC. Both are two entirely different brands making their own efforts in their own ways.
The mere fact that you're being overdrooled to a single product from them when you have the choice to get over it and look for others instead is a proof that they make stand-out products that capture people's attention and hearts (because your hatred towards them is so much that it almost felt as if Sony killed your parents).

You aren't forced to buy this. You are also not encouraged to write false bullsh*ts about them and pretend to have actually used them.
You can, however, keep your mouth shut and let those with real experience be truthful to speak about them.
