They just love to give away their older 1st gen model....I got one for $10 at Home Depot last week...and i see many holiday offers where stores give u a Google Home Mini free with purchase of something else, like a cheapo smart bulb or plug.
The 2nd gen model, the NEST Mini, has far better sounding speaker in it.
I got that for $20 at Best Buy.
