Copied or not as long as they can make the same thing cheaper then that just prove the original with high price is the one ripping off consumers. They don't care about designer and engineer. They just buy and use stuff as long as it's affordable. It actually make manufacturers more competitive and slowly decreasing their price. Customers are the one gaining benefits with this.

Thus, by not getting the money they deserve, they dont have all the funds they need to create the next best thing.
Also, seeing your hard work copy-pasted and someone else benefitting from your designs, demoralizes you in the long run.
So the customer loses because technology is not advancing as fast as it should, as resources are sent to cheap replicators instead of the brilliant creators and designers.

Design for earphones has always been pretty much the same way before people start noticing it just because it goes wireless only recently. I bet if Apple launch kitchen utensils like a spoon you all be saying other spoon design is fake and copied from Apple.
