Actually a Huge portion of sales is from China (the majority), followed by (perhaps?) Europe. Huawei is almost inexistent in many markets like the US and India. Not just Samsung but all smartphone makers are difficult to continue having presence in China, one due to cost and others due technology and other laws, unfavourable to non-Chinese companies. This needs to be thoroughly investigated and documented.
I would think Xiaomi is heading towards number one spots since it feels like crazy, maybe way more than the Honor and Huawei brands.
Samsung probably needs to create atleast 1 more brand of smartphone, where costs of manufacture are much lower and it competes with all Chinese midrangers (Honor, Xiaomi, Oppo etc), and also have super low proced smartphones too. They could reserve the Samsung brand for the S and Note Series, and this new brand could have a short name to compete with the mid rangers and lower end.

Anonymous, 13 Dec 2019iam having samsung s7..i hardly spot difference in hardware... moreThe difference in speed is huge. Android it self becomes more and more stable. The RAM alone is worth the upgrade. Because not even GB is enough. You always had less than 1 GB free, unless you clean and that will fill I'm a min. The S10 is the first Samsung phone I had that doesn't fill the memory as fast and actually have free space of memory.
I'm pretty sure performance might relate to the UFS difference too.
People always try to justify keeping the old device by down playing the new one.
Reality you think your phone is good. New phones are faster . Performance does make a difference. You don't see till you lose it in a short time.
App launching switching apps. Loading all the little things do matter.
Developer don't stop upgrading and adding feature as CPUs get faster.
If your phone does what you want so be it. But don't come and say the newer one isn't better.
And if you had the old phone for a while. I bet the battrey is crap by now. And that will be the case for all phones

"Huawei hit a snafu this year with the US Government ban of Huawei it didn’t discourage Huawei from still growing this year with very strong sales in China with the launch of the latest Huawei flagship, the Mate 30 Pro."
Huawei will continue to grow as they have the support of Chinese people and China have a huge population.

I'd like to see how many % of Huawei's sales is from China.

I'm happy with my Huawei but I'll be moving to Samsung next time I buy a phone. And just Samsung next after that too. I just can't live with EMUI and Kirin anymore, gosh I hate them.

Walter C. Dornez, 13 Dec 2019If Samsung doesn't improve both the low end and mid-range, ... moreI don't think that Samsung can do something here. Despite all the google service issues, Huawei just growing. It means local chinese market is keeping them growing and I doubt that Samsung can impact Huawei in local market.

If Samsung doesn't improve both the low end and mid-range, I can't see them keeping their lead. Honor is just too good for the price
