13 December 2019
We reported of the Samsung milestone, as many other outlets did. There was a mistake with the numbers.

this is probably true, if Samsung wanted to increase sales they will make the phone more available to interested people like having the fold on their website for example. I personally would have purchased the phone with Samsung card for 0% interest directly from Samsung not having that option makes me less interested am not that rice to pay 20% on a $2000 phone at best buy

“And I think the point is, we’re selling [a] million of these… There’s a million people that want to use this product at $2,000.” That statement says in progress - not completed.

I never trust these sales numbers, it's just cheap propaganda. Most of the time these numbers don't even come close to the real ones, no matter the manufacturer. They all lie! Moto razr will probably sell better than the fold, but we'll have to wait and see!

Would've reached 1M easily but even those who use tomorrow's money for today must be having second thoughts for something that costs 2x laptop price and even more fragile.

[deleted post]Oneplus 8 pro specs isn't even announced yet.

Anonymous, 14 Dec 2019It was not 1 million units, it was two mlions !samsung propaganda and marketing

There are literally millions of rich people around the globe. They can afford these expensive "toys". For you it's a huge investment on an installment plan, for them it's just " I want to buy it now ".
Apple and Samsung have always super expensive phones because they know there are customers around the world who have the cash to buy them.
There are always people who want to experience the same and risk not paying their rent to see what it feels like to have a super expensive device. ( When they poses those things, they have feelings of guilt at first )
So yeah, this device can actually sell millions. If you wanna see it and play with it, just visit a store and let the rich guys enjoy it 24/7.
As for me, I bought a flagship 2 years ago and it will stay with me another 2 years. An upgrade then will be well worth.

Xiaomi similarly claims every one of their devices reach the 5-10 million counts within 2-3 months and yet their worldwide marketshare is so low. They claimed selling of 10 million redmi note 8 phones within a month.Their k20 flopped badly in their main market i.e India yet they claimed to sell more than 5 million units. It looks like they exaggerate the numbers many fold to maintain the hype around their devices.

This guy said, and he was fully aware of his deceitful attempt, "we’re SELLING (not had manufactured, shipped or reserved) [a] million of these… There’s a million people (million users?Samsung's confirmation from what data source?) that want to use this product at $2,000.” that was a clever (failed) defense statement to justify the absurd price to these novelty devices that the Fold are doing well at $2000 but wants to retract because unlike Huawei, Sammy's devices can be monitored ny shareholders, etc.
