AnonD-804996, 18 Dec 2019Apple tax or not, this is productivity system with premium ... moreActually not true at all. You can buy any of the non-custom parts freely, which means cpu and graphics cards are readily available. AMD's threadripper completely obliterates Intel's offerings.
Stability issues is bullshit coming from uneducated people - hand build PCs are exactly as stable as this one, when you have a basic idea what to do. And if you are such a big fan of mac for some reason - you can always run macos on them. But times where macos was an advantage are long gone - you don't need to use it and your productivity won't suffer at all.

      OMG.
There is something good to say about something from aPple! Now THAT is what I call news!

But praise should be given especially as they so seldom deserves it.

you can build a "fake" pc to run the mac os. generally cost 1/3 the price and has 99% of the features.
(i cant remember what it misses, but plenty of YT vids on it)

That CPU has insane amount of cores and graphic cards are VEGA based with 32GB of HBM2 each. You can't buy such hardware for home PC's. Also, such workstations are pretested and verified they'll run reliably. People who earn money cannot deal with crashes, lockups or other problems that can happen because of incompatibilities or overheating. Sure you pay Apple tax, just like you do with HP, Alienware, Dell, whatever. And also for all the testing procedures such systems undergo before going to customers. And people who earn 50k with a single small contract, a 50k system is a negligible expense.

Adul Al Salami Kebab, 18 Dec 2019No Ryzen? But Intel is insecure! ;-; Apple probably can't go with AMD because of binding contracts with Intel that were set in place when they decided to go with X86 instead of PowerPC architecture.

Adul Al Salami Kebab, 18 Dec 2019No Ryzen? But Intel is insecure! ;-; Apple will complain how slow their Mac Pro is just because Intel can't even fix Spectre, Meltdown and Zombieload without sacrificing performances. Apple should've gone full AMD considering that their GPUs are AMD.

This is what happens when you build a PC like a PC, instead of a trash can.

It's basically just your normal upgradeable PC, but with added Apple tax. Also the base model is ridiculously overpriced.

But the price is definitely not making anyone happy. Even the most basic spec still cost a lot!
