I only use Telegram for chat. If people want to talk to me then use Telegram, email or text. I completely rid devices of apps from Suckerberg&Co.

I have nothing against Telegram since I did not use it, BUUUUUT form what i see and hear, most people use it because of the ability to download pirated media, or at least that is why it became popular in the first place.
Unfortunately i have to use WhatsApp for regular friends and co-workers but Signal all the way with my close friends and family.

No doubt telegram is too good in terms of UI and security updates. It's hard to believe, why this messenger is far behind in terms of popularity as compared to WhatsApp ..

This is how people slowely but shorly switch, if their are your friends, i did it and now i use telegram with my most importan, and whatsapp is opened once per month, when some non-switcher sends me a message

Telegram is actually better than Facebook's Messenger or Whatsapp. Including privacy (though not 100% secure).
I doubt why people still choose WA or Messenger over Telegram.

I tested it out last year, but has since uninstalled Telegram as only a very tiny number of my contacts uses it.

I dont understand why people use whatsapp more than telegram.
If not because all my friends are in wa, i've been already switched to telegram. Too bad i use tele just for its outstanding bot (werewolf, quizzes).
And plus, Telegram has NATIVE DESKTOP APP. In the Windows Store. It's a windows 10 app. Not some web-sync app like WhatsApp does.

You need modified whatsapp to avail themes and other things. Plus whatsapp itself is less secure.
Telegram gives you everything that whatsapp doesn't.
It's what whatsapp should aim to be of it wants to retain user base.
Also, they are taking about controlling fake news a.k.a controlling any info that doesn't fit their narrative. So more reasons to switch to Telegram.

still no lockscreen notifications...well, its a no...they need to fix that...a app for messaging without notifications on lockscreen dont work for most of the people...

Telegram has release so many high quality useful updates in last 6 months than what WhatsApp has done in the last 11 years
