i Think this phone is gonna be a global success and will probably sell more than the Lumia. The current $20 Nokia phone is getting outdated, this is the perfect replacement. I Would get one if it lands in Australia. Its the perfect back up phone. There's no way I'm taking my N9 to fishing trips

this would be a nice for those wanting only basic functions(some really do) who cares about iphone or other smartphones when the user isnt "smart" at all and only uses them for display and to brag.

All the comments are valuable but all are quite critics about Nokia desitions , just remember that 80 percent of the mobile lines has a low profile mobiles and 50 percent are more than 2 years old, then make sense to capt this huge market an not only luxury cell phones that had even less lifetime make business is always Nokia strategy

Old-style LCD-screen - something god to say about that? Well, you wont have any problems reading the display - even if you stand under intense sunlight on the beach, or in a sparklingly sunny snow-landscape. Always somehing.

I don't think launching this phone globally is a good idea specially since Nokia was trying to convince people that the days of being lame are gone.
Perhaps Nokia's enough is enough point has not reached yet...

Roughly in price order: 100/101, X1-00/01, C1-01/02, X2-05, X2-02, C2-01 and so on with different price points and features.

There are people who need this kind of phone, and I don't mean on old people only. This phone is perfect for construction workers, lumberjacks, and other hard workers. It has basic phone functions, its hard to break, battery lasts extremely long and it's cheap. Believe me, this phone is a must for a hard workers, because any smartphone would end up broken after a day or 2 of work at the construction site.

yeah Nokai 103 is low tire - that indicates that the Finish company is UNABLE to compete in the smartphone market and so its only way is dive deeper and lower... Bye Bye Nokia

And for the same battery specs.
What I'm saying is that Nokia should do better than this phone, and first of all in price since this phone is monochrome. I have evrerybody who wants nonsmartphones in mind, not just the Nigerians.

yahia, 10 Apr 2012Samsung is way ahead, they've released the E1050 a year ago... moreThe E1050 does not have flashlight or FM-radio, and the color display means that practical battery duration will be lower, which is also indicated by the official numbers (Samsung: 8.4 h, Nokia 11 h). So all in all these phones are pretty evenly matched in features, except that the Nokia has features that poor people in Africa and other places actually and use need rather than color displays.
