Well looks interesting, We in next 1-2 years we will reach charging speeds of 1000W :-)
I mean from 0 to 100% in less than 30 seconds even on 20k mAh batteries.

AnonD-558092, 08 Jan 2020Thunderbolt is also royalty-free now. https://www.gsmarena.... moreIt's only royalty-free within the Intel ecosystem. Otherwise you'll have to buy the controller chips from Intel to get it royalty-free.

Thunderbolt is also royalty-free now. https://www.gsmarena.com/intel_will_open_the_thunderbolt_3_standard_to_the_public_royaltyfree-news-25233.php
But I don't see the point of this announcement. "Hey everyone! We have a new standard! Same speed as the last one. More details? Nope."

I just remind you that USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 is 20 Gbps. So it seems like Thunderbolt 4 can go up to 80 Gbps which totally makes sense because Tiger Lake reportedly switches to PCIe 4.0. Being 2x times faster then PCIe 3.0, 4 lanes of PCIe 4.0 found in Thunderbolt 4 can be exactly what Intel meant by saying "up to 4 times faster the USB 3"

Maybe it has higher power delivery to allow more powerful laptop to charge through it.
