At least it doesn't come with any stupid or punchole, that's great to have the proper bezel, the user can grip it firmly. A bezelless design housing a military protection case still have the thinner side, not to mention it gain the size of the phone and uneasy to hold.

Retrohelix, 10 Jan 2020I'm sure if you slap a case onto a phone it makes it MIL-spec.Yeah until the case fails and you find that the handset warranty doesn't cover free broken screen repair.

AdamBoy64, 09 Jan 2020Great device. Great to see more rugged devices on the market.would be nice if only one was stable

Now, compare it with last year's Vernee V2 Pro, which I'm very satisfied with, by the way...

Although, I'm gonna try the Cat S32 also

If it's durable enough for normal drops, then that's all that counts. This would make a better spec'd phone just as tough as your LG so it's not really crap.

What a trash hardware components. Does that indicate what CAT thinks of it's consumer base? Most likely.

Three words: No, it won't... at least from my personal experience anyway. I ended up having an LG with a proper IP68 and MIL-STD rating. Dropped my LG multiple times and even bringing it to a swimming pool, still works like a total charm, and I don't even use any type of phone casing whatsoever. I don't like it, it's crap.

Aren't rugged phones kinda useless when you can just buy a popular midranger or 1-2 year old flagship for cheaper and just get a super-rugged waterproof/dustproof/shockproof case? Better phone plus protection.

microUSB in 2020?? Are you on drugs, Cat, is this the year 2011?? That thing cost 300 EUR and i can get another phone with USB Type C support at the same price. Basically, it is DOA.

Crapsung Lagging , 09 Jan 2020Bezzel is too big in 2020That's literally not why anyone would buy this phone. Smaller bezels means a bigger screen, a bigger screen means it's more fragile. Construction workers, crane operators, even truck drivers, most of them don't care sh*t about bezels, a quintuple camera setup, face ID or whatever gimmick is hot right now. Aslong as it has a decent camera (Usually just for taking pictures for work) sufficient storage, it's capable of calling (Duh) and above al else it's durable, it's all good.

Granted, it's price is a bit high for what it can do on paper, but other than that this is a great phone for the right people.

While there are loads of rugged phones out there that have all types of cool features like infrared cameras and so on that cost way less then this and have way better hardware in them. And well as much as i know peoplle who have had CAT phone's they dont even have good build quality at least not better then ulefone or the like

Bezzel is too big in 2020

GAMIRSFM, 09 Jan 2020Small phone dude would be happy. It's not even small tho. 5.5" + the ultramassive bezels means it's going to be well above 150mm tall (I wouldn't even be surprised if it hit the 160mm, which is basically a tablet size already).

But anyway this phone once again shows that CAT is living off the people who knows absolutely nothing of phones, and usually think like "well CAT makes good construction machinery, they must be making good phones too". I understand that main goal here is durability, but f*ck me sideways, Helio A20 for €299? I'm pretty sure some SD710 costs virtually nothing at this point and it would've made the phone 100% more usable.
