Next Nubia Red Magic to have 144Hz screen

This is awesome. Now, we should have mature enough display hardware/software to make 90hz as standard (not draining noticeably more battery than 60hz). And 144 as the new gaming standard.
btw, giving selection of refresh rates doesn't mean Nubia could be trusted to have completely resolved it's user experience/software shenanigans.
I'll believe it when I see it.

Because of the encouraging testing results with Dimencity 800, Dimencity 1000L and Dimencity 1000, phone-makers are waiting for MediaTek to deliver Dimencity 1100 and Dimencity 700. If this does happen in the 1st half of 2020, MediaTek will have its own moment of "AMD vs Intel" in the history of smartphone chips. It would be of high probability that MediaTek will out-sell qualcomm at least in 5G smartphone market, if not in overall smartphone market. Nubia Red Magic will use SD865 for its non-5G (due to contractual obligation), and use D1100 for its 5G version.

The mobile gaming industry is highly profitable because 99% of their customers are casual gamers. They dont mind being exploited with microtransactions for some shitty "feature" in some shitty game because they just dont know any better. Ive seen plenty of news about "kid racked up thousands with mom's credit card for a mobile game". That pretty much sums it up

I wonder if the next rog phone will remain superior while still having a version that barely costs much more than Nubia. And if either will support Verizon. Or if Nubia will even the playing field.

I'd rather pay to have outright a game I can download onto devices to play one at a time, then have all the micro-transaction and spyware crap, which also bogs down the system.

I was just scrolling down the news articles thinking how incredibly slack Nubia is not to release there promised 8kp30 pro camera software feature for the Red Magic 3 and 3s and now with a new season of phones coming (with actual 8kp30) and I then saw this article. I sussed them out long ago and didn't buy. They could not even deliver the higher 8k framerates people were able to get some Asus phones to do.

Now please give us the QHD display please I really can't stand FHD+ display anymore even on high end phones. Also just get Samsung to tune the colours for you rather than your super saturated fake ones.

Lol you don't even own a ROG 2.
In every forum, you are repeating those same lies.
Rog 1 software experience could have been considered unpolished.
But the Rog 2 is a pleasure to use. Zen UI is right up there with oxygen OS

5tt, 13 Jan 2020If only people would focus on making quality mobile games t... moreMobile gaming actually comprises 37% on the entire world wide gaming industry, with a whopping 50 billion dollar revenue stream. It is also the fastest growing niche in gaming - 29% year over year, especially in Asia - 3.5 times faster than PC growth and 6.3 faster than console.

walkman8, 13 Jan 2020But...why?Just like on desktop, a mobile phone with a 144 Hz panel versus 60 Hz panel is like comparing night and day in daily use. The difference in smoothness is GIGANTIC. So it makes using your phone a much nicer experience, since it won't have a slow, restricting 60 Hz panel/refresh rate. If you want the screen to feel slow again or have a bit longer battery life, then just use the 60 Hz setting.

YUKI93, 13 Jan 2020Refresh rate selection? Now that's really handy. 60Hz for e... moreGlad that nubia seems to try to fix its software quirks. The Red Magic 3 couldn't compete with Black Shark 2 and ROG Phone 2, even Razer Phone 2 that was launched a year ago before the Red Magic.
Now, I wish they install a huge battery (not too bendable like the nubia Z20 so it seems more durable) and remove the fan. Installing the fan just drags dust inside the phone.

Even the lightest gaming laptop still weighs more than the Macbook Air (with around 1.5-2 kg). They are also big and heavy to be used on the move or on public areas.
Mobile Esports have actually grown a lot, considerably more than PC Esports, look up some stats in the web. It's the developers fault if they implement too many microtransactions in their product, not the handset manufacturer.
Still, just play what suits you. Asus ROG Phone 2 is selling quite well despite its software, by the way.
