Pop-ups is the best way to go, at least until they manage under-screen cameras that are decent enough (which seems that it won't happen any time soon).

Stop it. Get some help. And put the camera in a slim bezel.

I hope Xiaomi does away with those ugly punchholes and notches to bring popups for immersive full screen experience. And also do not blunder to bring LCD over AMOLED which is a better technology obviously.

I think if Xiaomi also makes mobile phone design like Meizu's flagship, some of their fans or new comers will buy it because not all people like notch, hole, or pop-up. They don't need big megapixel front camera. Just need tiny front camera to post on social media and for video calling which is put on the small bezel. So, top and bottom bezel will be symmetric.

It doe... moreWhy of course! Patent need $$$ and effort to publish and maintain. Bad if you do not intent to use it, you waste money. On the other hand, if they CHOOSE to make it.. WHO will buy it? Can they get profit in such a design?
In the end, you the end consumer will have to pay for this silly design, while you buy their other products.

Even if I don't have anything to hide, I value you my privacy to not be invaded, while I am not aware of it. WHEN both cameras pop up, it means that I can control when to open the camera or not.
Look at Huawei, they made the mate 30 pro with a selfie camera that detects who comes behind you all the time, what does that mean? IT MEANS, that the selfie camera will remain turned on for the rest of your life, because it has a bezel/notch.
Wake up please.
