A 4.7" screen, quad-core processor and eye-tracking technology may be all we get.

Anonymous, 18 Apr 2012Yea it's time for some more QWERTY sliders, especially for ... moresliders make phones bulky, also, its not reasonable to have sliders, since everything is in ur screen.

Meizu are using a quad core A9 exynos chip in their new quad core phone. I don't see why samsung would let them have this chip before they use it themselves. Because of this I think it will be unlikely that the GS3 will use A9 cores.
I think it will use A15 cores in either dual core or quad core configuration. Which will provide HUGE POWER!
Either way I doubt Samsung is going to give their quad core exynos to a cheap chinese brand before they even use it themselves.
Fingers crossed the GS3 will be a powerhouse of a phone!
I don't care toooo much about improving battery life as a spare battery is always going to give you more juice. That's why it's crucial samsung stays true to having removeable batterys and not the built in rubbish like Apple and Nokia.
We will see our biggest gains in battery performance when we get phones using a new battery technology. Unfortunately this is not something that will be coming too soon.

People have unrealistic expectations now days (IMO), .There is really not much more need in term of processing power anyway (with small screen), dual core is more then enough if used correctly. Only think i miss in GSII is highres screen so if they add that its a buy for me.
              Better battery is always welcome.
Anyway i'm sure Samsung will bump the CPU+GPU so its nice as well but in the end of the day when i surf i doubt i see a noticeable difference, 1s faster load time isnt better then software optimization which give us more battery or smoother experience.

[deleted post]Judge, going through your previous opinions and comments.. lets just call them comments. Am not really interested in discussing it with someone who has no idea about tech and innovation whatsoever. Moreover a person who fails to understand the meaning of these terms as well. You're just here to troll, that's all. Enjooy doing that whilst looking in the mirror.

GDT, 17 Apr 2012Point well presented. Unfortunately, all android OEMs hav t... moreI totally agree with both of you guys on this, up to a point...

However, there is still very much a die-hard contingent for each manufacturer that will only buy their products, but on the whole, the majority of people are more well-balanced than that! ;)

I have had a GS1, I upgraded to a GS2 - and so far HTC and Sony have disappointed with no expandable memory... especially considering HD is the new thing (pictures AND video - they swallow memory like nobody's business)

As long as Sammy keeps this option and ramps up everything else - they SHOULD have a winner...

My only concern is the phone design, unless is something a bit special or different enough from the GS2 to make its own mark, people could be disappointed...

I LOVE my GS2 - easily the best phone of last year, but I would like something a bit different this year, so it's not a dead-cert me getting a GS3 (I'd love an Xperia Play 2 if they ever make one!) but that's just wishful thinking after the poor sales of the first...

What is this? An attempt by cnet to turn down the anxiety for the new device? None of the upgrades to flagship models are revolutionary if you think about it. They just make it faster, better thinner thats exactly what the S3 is supposed to do. That's what apple has been doing. So why the hoopla? Apple devices for instance the 'new ipad' was termed revolutionary.. when all it really did was present a screen with unusual and as per me.. weird resolution specs.

Is that the only thing that makes it revolutionary? Well then i guess my friends at the so called 'Source' are in for a big surprise as they are gonna witness wide scale improvements on the S3 from the S2. Better Graphics Better architecture, more cores and increased RAM. Different design, ofcourse picking up from where S2 left. All i wanna ask is why the partial treatment?

P.S. A message to GSMarena, please test the authenticity and applicability of such rumors before you post them. You guys are undermining and potentially harming one of the biggest brands supporting Open Source platforms by posting such ridiculous claims.

why Is the writter of this article so biased?, you get quad core processor, 4.7 inch screen and all the new features and you say is a minor upgrade, every new apple product comes with REAL MINOR hardware upgrades, the iphone comes with 3.5 inch screen and 512mb ram,so outdated hardware, and the new ipad still is dual core, is heavy, and thicker and it gets hot, has wifi problems, and charging problems, and you glorify it, I dont understand why people are so blind, its seem like apple is the EVIL and you worship the evil.
